The NATIVE AMERICAN SCIENCE & ENGINEERING PROGRAM (NASEP) at the University of Arizona is a year-long program designed to provide Native American high school students with a vision of a career in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field; connect students with academic professionals and industry representatives from STEM-related interests; and catalyze the student's motivation to complete chemistry, physics, and pre-calculus before graduating high school.

The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center Office for Diversity (UNM HSC OfD) leads the flagship educational pipeline programs, entitled Hope, Enrichment, And Learning Transform Health in New Mexico (HEALTH NM). HEALTH NM comprises a series of highly integrated pipeline programs preparing underserved and underrepresented students for academic success and social readiness to enter and graduate from a health professions program.

The FREE programs we are promoting are:

· Test Prep Programs: MCAT+, PCAT+, and DAT+ programs are six-week, non-residential summer test preparation experiences for NM residents preparing to take the Medical College Admissions Test, Pharmacy College Admissions Test, or Dental Admissions Test.

2017 Research Experience for Undergraduates on Sustainable Land and Water Resources

Application deadline: March 2, 2017

The aim of the proposed REU on Sustainable Land and Water Resources is to introduce undergraduate students to the key elements of research on land and water resources that are essential to improving management practices, with a focus on Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) and diverse interdisciplinary research teams. Students will work on one of three teams on projects that integrate Earth-surface dynamics, geology, hydrology and other disciplines. Research teams are hosted on two Native American reservations and at the Univ. MN and projects are developed in collaboration with the tribes? resource management divisions. The REU incorporates an interdisciplinary team-oriented approach that emphasizes quantitative and predictive methods, CBPR, indigenous research methods, and traditional ecological knowledge.
