Families: During dismissal on April 8, 2024, our region will witness a partial solar eclipse coinciding with the first day back from Spring Break. HCSWV would like to remind everyone about the potential dangers of viewing the solar eclipse directly or looking at the sun during this time.

If your child drives to and from school, please discuss safety measures and expectations with them. All HCSWV schools will adhere to the regular schedule, taking precautions, and promoting alternative ways to experience the eclipse, like television feeds or internet live streams.

We apologize for the short notice, but due to a scheduling conflict we will have to reschedule the opening of the time capsule. We will open it at the end of the school year to celebrate 30 amazing years. This will allow for a greater opportunity for students, staff, and the community to participate and share in the experience. Thank you for your understanding.

We’d like to wish Mr. Powell, our wonderful principal, a happy 40th birthday!! To share in his birthday excitement, a “birthday walk” has been created. Each class can travel around the school and use their problem solving skills to answer the questions from the year he was born! What a fun way to celebrate his birthday!! 🎈🎈
