John Paul II Center is the only Catholic school in Berks County that provides a comprehensive educational program for children and adults (ages 3-21) with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our Adult Program was established to provide personalized assistance to adults (ages 21+) with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This diverse day program focuses on maintaining and developi

ng social and self-help skills. We are open to individuals of all faiths and religious beliefs, and have traditionally served Catholics and non-Catholics in equal numbers. We educate the whole child academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

When John “Jack” Horrigan established an endowment for the John Paul II Center for Special Learning in December 2013, he was doing something that came naturally to him: looking toward the future.

Jack was a savvy and successful businessman, a man of deep Catholic faith and a devoted husband who wanted to honor the memory of his beloved wife, Peggy.

He also became something else that day — a pioneer.

We will be forever grateful to Jack and his wife, Peggy, for being a trailblazer and a cheerleader who strengthened our future here at JPII.
