Today, members of our Dodgeball for Life committee visited the AstraZeneca Hope Lodge to drop off our donation check, fully funded by this year’s community dodgeball tournament! The Hope Lodge provides a vital sanctuary by offering completely free lodging for patients and their caregivers undergoing cancer treatment. Every dodge, throw and catch during our tournament translated directly into real-world comfort and relief for families navigating their hardest days. We would like to send another massive thank you to all of our players, sponsors and supporters who stepped onto the court this spring to make this meaningful contribution possible! We look forward to another great tournament next year!

Today we celebrated our 8th grade students’ hard work all year at our awards ceremony. From academic excellence to leadership, character and everyday effort, our students showed just how much they’ve grown during their time here. We’re so proud of the way this class has supported one another, stepped up as leaders and left a lasting mark on our school community. The future is bright, and it starts with them!

Our Girls in STEM club had the privilege of taking a tour of Sweet Street manufacturing this month. The girls learned about their amazing operations and of the many STEM careers employed there- Food Scientists, Computer Programmers, Electricians, Mechanical Engineers to name only a few! The girls were impressed to see how the engineering design process and sustainable practices learned in the classroom were being used right on site! The girls were also inspired to learn how this local manufacturer has global ties! And the best part of the trip was of course eating some delicious sweet treats in their lovely cafe! Thank you Sweet Streets Desserts Inc!

The Governor Mifflin Boys Middle School Club Volleyball season wrapped up yesterday. This group showed tremendous growth, teamwork, and determination throughout the season, working hard to improve their skills and support one another both on and off the court. What a day for our GMMS Music students! 🎢🎶 Yesterday, our Jazz Band, Honors Orchestra, and Show Choir students represented Governor Mifflin Middle School at an adjudication event featuring schools from across the tri-state area. All three ensembles earned 1st place “Excellent” ratings at the awards ceremony! 🏅

Beyond the performances, experiences like these help students grow as leaders, collaborators, and proud representatives of the Governor Mifflin community. We are so proud of their hard work and dedication!

Yesterday, 7th grade took learning beyond the classroom walls and into an underwater world at the Adventure Aquarium! 🐠 From up-close shark encounters to hands-on exhibits, students explored marine life, ecosystems, and conservation in action. A day full of curiosity, excitement & unforgettable moments - this is what learning looks like when it comes alive! 🌊🦈

We also want to extend a HUGE shout-out to all the amazing parent volunteers during this trip to help make the day a success!

What an amazing day at the The Franklin Institute!

Today, our 8th graders brought science to life through hands-on learning, exploration, collaboration, and discovery. From space and engineering to the human body and physics, students experienced real-world connections to the science standards they’ve been learning all year.

This is what Total Experience Learning is all about! Going beyond the four walls of the classroom and giving students opportunities to learn through authentic, memorable experiences.

We are incredibly proud of how respectful, curious, and engaged our students were throughout the entire trip. It was a fantastic day full of learning and memories!
