Sylvan Hills High School is proud to recognize Jaiya Hampton and Kyra Looney, two graduating Bears who have served our campus as dedicated AVID assistant staff members. Their leadership, consistency, and commitment to supporting our AVID students have made a meaningful impact on the SHHS community.
Thanks to the generosity of Baldwin & Shell, both students were awarded the Bobby Agee AVID Scholarship, sponsored through the SHMS PTSA. Each scholarship provides $1,000 to support their continued educational journey.
๐ Jaiya Hampton will be attending Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.
๐ Kyra Looney will be attending the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

๐Donโt forget โ PCSSDโs summer meal program kicks off tomorrow morning. ๐ฑ
Weโre providing free breakfast and lunch packs for all children 18 years and younger in our community. No registration or ID is required, and children do not have to attend PCSSD to receive meals.
Each pack includes 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches. Families can pick up meals from 7:00โ10:00 a.m. at the designated distribution sites, and staff will load the packs directly into your vehicle.

โจ Jada Simpson (Miss Greater Jacksonville) โ a 2021 graduate of Maumelle High School, where she served as cheer president, Student Council president, National Honor Society president, and Homecoming Queen.
๐ Tori Beth Poland (Miss Grand Prairie) โ a 2023 graduate of Sylvan Hills High School, where she was active in band, athletics, and multiple student organizations.
๐ซ Faith Kelly (Miss Sweetheart of Arkansas) โ a 2023 graduate of Sylvan Hills High School, where she participated in band, athletics, and student leadership activities.
โญ Apple Dennie (Miss Greater Little Rock) โ a 2017 graduate of Sylvan Hills High School, where she was active in choir and cheer before continuing her education at Arkansas State University.

Ciara Cole, the 2026 Educator of the Year at Sylvan Hills High School, stands alongside Principal Tracy Allen after being surprised with the honor by faculty and staff members. Cole, one of the instructional facilitators at the school, was recognized for her leadership, compassion, and dedication to students and staff across campus. Congratulations to seniors Morgan Perry (left) and Hailey Middaugh (right) on earning the 2026 Telcoe Federal Credit Union Scholarship and Academic Award. This statewide scholarship recognizes outstanding academic achievement. This year, only 17 graduating seniors across Arkansas received the $5,700 award. Help us celebrate these two exceptional Bears.
