When I tell you these children (4-5 graders) cried in the last day of camp…I mean 😭😭😭. They’ve argued most of the summer, but they’ve been together most of their lives and they are about to experience a new normal. We are so grateful that DREAM has provided an opportunity for children to develop life-long friendships ❤️.

Sadly, there will be more 😢. The Arkansas Department of Education and Governor Sanders do not value all childcare in our state. Not only will childcare centers keep closing, but the stability of high quality centers will be reduced due to lack of funding and resources. They have simply chosen the group of children they care to help in the state of Arkansas. Welcome to the Haves and the Have Nots.

A Cabot daycare center on Friday joined the dozens of Arkansas childcare facilities that have closed down since the Arkansas Department of Education cut payments last fall for a program serving low-income families. In October, the program served 15,359 children, according to Education Department data. As of July, it serves 10,517.
