This course will break down the standard ISO forms most businesses need, from property, general liability, workers' compensation, auto, and more. In addition to reviewing coverages found, or not found, in the forms, the class will highlight some of the common areas for agent E&O and spend some time on service basics including the use of surveys and checklists, and certificates of insurance.

Oops, I made a mistake. As insurance professionals, that's not a phrase we like to say. But we are humans and mistakes are possible. What can we do to prevent those mistakes from becoming an E & O claim against us?

Educate ourselves! The Maine Insurance Agents Association is hosting a 3 Hour E&O Class on April 2nd from 9-12. It covers important topics such as what is E&O, to whom do we owe a duty, where do claims come from and the all so important topic of documentation.

I'll be leading this necessary and engaging class and hope to "see" you there!

Flood insurance is often overlooked until it's too late. Insurance Superintendent says even Mainers outside of flood zones should consider Flood Insurance. The NOAA is predicting more named storms and hurricanes this year. Agents should provide flood quotes to all their clients and if you own property check with your agent to find out if you're covered in the event of a flood. Most policies exclude flood events and additional coverage must be purchased.

Governor Mills announced today that some Maine Campgrounds can open this Friday in order for Maine Residents to celebrate the long Memorial Day Weekend in the beautiful outdoors. "We believe allowing private campgrounds to open with strict health and safety precautions to Maine residents minimizes risks while supporting mental and physical health, particularly during the long Memorial Day weekend," said Gov. Janet Mills.
