Sherman ISD maintains a social media presence for the benefit of the community. This page will be updated with information regarding school events and activities, the achievements of students and staff, and other relevant information. Sherman ISD monitors the posting of comments and other information on the district’s social media accounts and has the ultimate discretion to determine whether the c

ontent of a posting is appropriate or inappropriate. A post that is determined to be inappropriate, as further defined by these rules, shall be immediately removed by the district. The intent of this policy is to protect the privacy and rights of Sherman ISD staff and students, and to ensure that visitors to the sites are not subjected to inappropriate content. These rules are supported by Sherman ISD Board Policies GKDA (Local) and GKB (Local). A post will be considered inappropriate if:
The post threatens physical violence or is obscene, vulgar, or sexually explicit;
The post endorses actions that endanger the health or safety of students or others;
The post promotes illegal use of drugs, alcohol, or other controlled substances;
The post contains untrue and potentially harmful statements about a person, otherwise identifies a specific person in a defamatory, abusive, or negative way, or violates a person’s privacy;
The post itself violates the law or encourages others to do so or advocates imminent lawless or disruptive action and is likely to incite or produce such action;
The post contains hate speech or similar language that offensively attacks any group (e.g., racist, sexist) or contains content aimed at creating hostility and violence;
The post does not relate to the topic of the information posted by the district (e.g., if a post references an athletic team winning an award, comments should relate to that topic)
The post violates the intellectual property rights of another person (e.g., do not post all or part of a copyrighted work without the permission of the owner; do not cut and paste images or logos from the internet that may be protected by copyright or trademark rights);
The post is an advertisement for good/services or is “spam” (i.e., repeatedly posting the same comment(s) for the purpose of advertising/promoting a service or product);
The post promotes any other organization that may be in competition with the district (e.g., charter schools, public schools, private schools, online schools or programs);
The post violates federal or state law or any Board policies regarding the protection of employee or student privacy or the confidentiality of employee or student records;
The post promotes, advocates, or electioneers for or against any candidate, measure, or political party or the post constitutes political literature (except as permitted by state law);
There is reasonable cause to believe that posting the information will result in material and substantial disruption or interference with school activities or the rights of others. Sherman ISD is not responsible for the content posted on this page by site visitors and does not endorse any content posted by site visitors. The district reserves the right to block or restrict users who repeatedly post content that violates these guidelines, consistent with applicable law and district policy.

Today wrapped up day 2 of our SMS Celbration days to close out an amazing school year.

Students enjoyed fun activity stations throughout the school, but the MAIN EVENT was definitely the Teachers vs. Students showdown in the gym! 🏐🔥
The students may have worn our teachers out on the volleyball court, but in the end the teachers held strong and completed a clean sweep going 6-0 against the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders! 💪😂
There were lots of laughs, friendly competition, cheering crowds, and memories made all day long. We are loving every minute of celebrating our students and ending the year with fun! ❤️💙

PART 1
SMS Day 1 of Celebration Days was today and we had it all!!! From students kicking back and watching Holes, to intense table soccer matches, trivia fun, and even a hilarious music-less dance battle, there was never a dull moment! 🕺😂
One of the highlights of the day was watching one of our teachers rock out on the drums while students picked the songs! 🥁🎶 And of course, karaoke brought out some serious talent (and some brave performances too)! 🎤⭐
We also had an exciting Teachers vs. Students volleyball showdown in the gym that brought tons of energy and laughs! 🏐
So thankful for the memories being made, the smiles on our students’ faces, and the amazing staff helping make these days so special. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.❤️💙

Today we had the privilege of recognizing our amazing students for their hard work and dedication! 🌟
Congratulations to all of our A Honor Roll and A/B Honor Roll students for your outstanding academic achievements. Your commitment, perseverance, and determination do not go unnoticed, and we are so proud of each of you! 📚👏
We also celebrated our Student of the Month recipients who continue to shine through their leadership, character, kindness, and positive example on our campus. 💙

SMS celebrated its yearly honors this week. Mrs. Jaclyn Hyde was honored with the Teacher of the Year award, and Mrs. Bailey Jordan received the Employee of the Year award. The Assistant Principal team, including Jansen Trotter, Suzanne Richardson, and Samantha Deaton, was recognized as Team of the Year. Moreover, Mrs. Erin Clayton was acknowledged as Volunteer of the Year at SMS.

Very Exciting Day at SMS Today: It's the 40th Anniversary of the movie “Top Gun,” and our fearless leader, Dr. Max Smith, was showing his support throughout the halls. We also had SHS Senior Leadership Students helping throughout the halls this morning, welcoming students. Then we had our amazing SMS, and HS FCA held their joint meeting here on campus this morning, with some amazing guests in attendance. Happy Friday from Sherman Middle.
