Having a career spanning 5 decades, he earned 14 Grammy Awards through his exploration. Debuting his first album “Takin’ Off” was an immediate success including one of his most famous pieces, “Watermelon Man.”

In our first installment of Jazz Appreciation Month, we’d love to celebrate two great trumpet legends, Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong!

Miles Davis (shown facing left) spent his five decades career influencing jazz and 20th century music. After dropping out of Julliard, Miles made his debut with Charlie Parker’s Bebop quartet. Some well know pieces were “Four”, “So What”, and “Freddie Freeloader.”

Spanning five decades as well, Louis Armstrong had a long career of jazz trumpet and singing. His recognizable voice is best remembered with “What a Wonderful world.”
