🍩💙 Donuts, Dads & lots of smiles! 💙🍩

We loved welcoming our dads and special guests to campus for our Donuts with Dad event! From sweet treats and meaningful conversations to creating our “Best Dad” crafts and sharing plenty of smiles, it was a morning filled with connection and joy.

Thank you to all the dads who took time to join us and celebrate these special moments with your children. These little memories are the ones that make our community so special! 💙✨

🌎✈️ Heart of Summer – Week 3: Around the World! 🌍🗺️

What an incredible week of exploration and discovery!

Our students spent the week learning about the world around them through hands-on activities, cultural experiences, and meaningful connections. From creating maps and studying animals from different continents to learning about diverse cultures and traditions, every day brought a new adventure.

⚽ We even celebrated World Cup Day with a special soccer lesson from Coach Addison, giving students the chance to learn new skills while experiencing the excitement of the world's most popular sport.

🇵🇭 One of the highlights of the week was a special presentation from Ms. Rowena, who is from Cebu in the Philippines. She shared about Filipino culture, language, traditions, and the Philippine flag, and even treated us to homemade Filipino cuisine! It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience another culture firsthand.

At Heart of Texoma Montessori Academy, we believe learning extends far beyond the classroom walls, and this week was a beautiful reminder of how much there is to discover in our world.

🥷💥 Ninja Warrior Week was a HUGE hit at Heart of Summer!

This week was packed with action, creativity, and plenty of opportunities for our campers to challenge themselves. Students tested their strength, balance, coordination, and perseverance through Ninja Warrior-inspired activities while learning the value of focus, confidence, and teamwork.

The fun didn't stop there! Our campers also put their creativity to work by making their own ninja stress balls and practicing the art of origami to create ninja stars, combining hands-on crafting with problem-solving and fine motor skill development.

A very special THANK YOU to Arnold's Martial Arts for partnering with us and providing an incredible martial arts demonstration for our campers. We are so grateful for community partners who share their expertise and help enrich the experiences we provide for our students.

At Heart of Summer, we believe childhood should be filled with movement, imagination, creativity, friendship, and real-world experiences. This week was a wonderful reminder that some of the best childhood memories are made while learning new skills, getting active, creating something with your hands, and having fun alongside friends.

Last week, Cristel Ruiz joined us for our professional development day and shared an inspiring training on Freedom and Limits in the Montessori Classroom. Her depth of knowledge and expertise gave our staff so much to reflect on as we prepare our environments with even greater intention.

Our team left inspired and already planning ways to create more opportunities for freedom within the classroom while ensuring that limits remain clear, purposeful, and respectful.

Thank you, Cristel, and thank you to the Montessori Institute of North Texas, for supporting our continued growth as Montessori educators. We are grateful for the wisdom you share and the impact it has on our school community.

One of the most beautiful parts of a Montessori education is the completion of the three-year cycle. ✨

Over the course of those years, we get the incredible privilege of watching children grow not only academically, but emotionally, socially, and independently. We see confidence bloom, friendships deepen, leadership emerge, and a true love of learning take root.

Last week, we celebrated our graduates and reflected on just how much each child has accomplished during their time in the classroom. These ceremonies are always such a joyful reminder of the magic of Montessori — the quiet moments of growth, the perseverance, the curiosity, the independence, and the community built along the way.

What an honor it is to witness these children complete such an important chapter and step forward ready for what comes next. 🤍

So much love, so much pride, and so many Montessori magical moments. 🎓✨

Yesterday’s Field Day may have come with plenty of rain showers, but that certainly didn’t stop the joy. ☔️💛

Between every drizzle and downpour, our students raced outside to make the most of every single break in the storm. From leaky bucket races to bounce houses, obstacle courses, and all the laughter in between, the day was full of energy, teamwork, resilience, and fun.

Sometimes the most memorable days are the ones that don’t go exactly as planned. Watching the children embrace the muddy grass, damp shoes, and unexpected weather with such excitement was a beautiful reminder that joy doesn’t need perfect conditions to grow. 🌧️✨

Our Upper Elementary students have spent the entire semester diving deep into the continent of Australia/Oceania — and the results have been incredible to watch unfold. 🌏

Each student chose a country or region to study in depth, following their own interests and curiosities along the way. Throughout the semester, they researched culture, landmarks, animals, biomes, geography, and the meaning behind each country’s flag. They created detailed maps and handmade flags, completed independent research reports on topics of their choice, and incorporated both art and technology into their projects.

What makes work like this so meaningful is that it goes far beyond memorizing facts. The children learn how to research, organize information, think critically, present confidently, and follow their curiosity with purpose. By the end of the project, each student became the expert on their chosen area and shared their learning with the class through presentations they worked so hard to prepare.

The depth of knowledge, creativity, and ownership these students showed throughout this project has been so impressive to witness. ✨
