We are delighted to inform you that on-campus school resumes tomorrow, Wednesday, January 15, 2025. The teachers and staff are so excited to return to campus on Wednesday and be reunited with their friends and teachers! Your patience during these unusual fire and wind days is appreciated; as is our policy, students will not be penalized for no attendance or low attendance during these past closure and remote instruction days. Additionally, if your family is still experiencing hardship and your child is unable to attend school, please reach out to Mr. Huntsinger ([email protected]) or Mrs. Sol ([email protected]) and we will work with your individual situation. There are individual study options available. In the coming days, the school will be sending each family some paperwork to review and sign regarding the closure and remote days. Your prompt return of these documents are important so that we don’t lose funding for those days… more information coming soon.

The staff & teachers & students truly want to return to school as soon as we can. We have been closely monitoring the fires and have been listening to reports from government officials. At this time Ivy Bound Academy remains very close to the evacuation warning areas and things can change quickly. In an abundance of caution, all instruction on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 to remote/virtual instruction. No students and no employees should come to the Ivy Bound Academy campus tomorrow, Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Please look for further email communication from Principal Huntsinger on the remote instruction. Further, your family’s safety is of the utmost importance, and if your student in unable to join your class remotely due to your unique safely situation, email your teacher or Mr. Huntsinger and let them know if you are able. There will be no attendance penalty for your student not being able to join their class remotely tomorrow. Please be safe and take care. I will give you another update by tomorrow late afternoon about Wednesday's plan.

Due to the numerous concurrent fires burning today and the impact that this has on our families (safety, air quality, etc), Ivy Bound Academy will be closed on Friday, January 10, 2025. There will not be remote instruction to allow both our families and employees to attend to their needs in this situation. No students will have any attendance impacts due to fire situation. Dear Ivy Bound Families,
We hope that your family are safe and sound. The power at school is back on, and the air quality remains very poor with much fire particulate matter in the air. On Thursday, January 9th, we will continue our remote/virtual instruction and study with teachers remaining remote at home and completing their studies in the Google Classroom platform. Like today, if your student is unable to participate in school tomorrow, please reach out to Principal Huntsinger and let him know. There will not be any attendance or academic penalties for not fully participating tomorrow. Office staff and custodians will be on campus tomorrow arranging for fresh breakfast and lunch deliveries starting Friday, cleaning the campus yard, and changing the air conditioning filters. Our tentative plan is to resume on-campus instruction on Friday; however, we will update you on Thursday afternoon with more details. As always, do not hesitate to reach out to Principal Huntsinger, our Office Manager Sol Casas, and/or your teacher(s), if you need anything.

Dear Ivy Bound Family,

During this season of thanks, I would like to begin by showing my gratitude for the many pillars of the school community. First, I am thankful for the faculty and staff who exhibit impeccable attendance and ensure that students are being challenged in an academically thrilling, student-centered environment. Their hard work ensures that the needs of our students are being met. Second, I am thankful for the parents for your support and dedication to your children’s academic, social-emotional, and physical growth and development. Our partnership fosters your children’s education and enhances our school in many aspects.

I believe that the success of our school is built on a foundation of mutual respect and inclusiveness. Every day, dedicated teachers and staff nurture a culture of fairness, love and caring, all focused on the goal of providing a safe learning environment for our students and families.

During this time of Thanksgiving, I want to share my gratitude and thank you for being such an important part of our children’s lives. This is a wonderful time of the year to get together with friends and family to celebrate and be thankful for all the wonderful people in our lives.
