NEW FIREARM LAWS
Informational Purposes Only

We have received several questions on this topic. This is a "cheat sheet" to clarify the confusion and questions regarding the new firearm laws recently passed and signed into law.

It is the belief that the legislature intends to introduce a ban on the sale of standard capacity magazines holding more than 10 rounds. That bill is expected to require the reporting of currently owned magazines holding more than 10 rounds to police.

Other priorities for 2023 include removing liability protections for fi****ms manufacturers, imposing an eight year prohibition on fi****ms sales to people convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence (which is currently illegal under federal law) and the creation of gun free zones at polling places. Of those three, the domestic violence legislation is the most likely to pass. It would mirror current federal law.
