Our Roby STLP entered a book trailer on the book, The Terrible Two and we won first place in the state! The students were from both Roby and Overdale in the Cloud Academy. They created a book trailer completely virtually! We are so proud of them and tonight we celebrated their awesome job!!

We are so excited to kick off our Book Fair on Monday!

Also, we will not be able to have visitors come in to shop during the book fair, but I will be able to help your child find a book that will be great for them! If you are uncomfortable sending money with your child to school, please use the ewallet!

We are trying to limit the amount of cash we are touching and the ewallet is a great way to do this.

Your child will be able to shop the book fair on his/her library day, so plan to send money or have their ewallet set up by the day that they come to library class. We will also have some time available each day if needed to allow them to shop.

Thanks for attending the American Pops Orchestra show of "Henny Penny." I hope you enjoyed it! What was your favorite part?!

[11/15/20]   We are going on a field trip for music this week! Ok, it’s a virtual field trip but I’m super excited! The American Pops Orchestra will be broadcasting their performance of the classic "Henny Penny.” The show features songs from the Great American Songbook that are performed by Broadway actors and professional musicians. Each performance will include a LIVE Q & A with actors and musicians, allowing for the students to interact in real-time with the artists and musicians.

Students will have TWO opportunities to watch the show:

We would like to recognize Albany Thompson for being selected for the STLP live reporting service team for the State STLP competition. Even though the event was cancelled we still want to showcase Albany and her hard work to be a part of this elite group!

We will be having a Virtual Field Day on Monday, May 11th! The directions and all of the task cards are included in the attachment below. Also included is the reflection activity that we are asking students to complete and send to their classroom teachers! There are 20 tasks and we are asking that students complete at least 4 of them. There are still hundreds of library books out and we need those books returned before the end of the year so they don't get lost over the summer. [04/01/20]   Kids Heart Challenge Update!
Our totals are in! Our amazing students and families raised 3,069.70! I know this was a challenging time but our Roby families really pulled through for such a wonderful cause. The American Heart Association needed us more than ever this year! I have ordered all of the prizes and will update you all as they come in (It might take up to 4 weeks with everything going on right now). We will honor the school prizes when we return.

River Buckler-5th Grader (Whitley) is our repeat highest earner with 1563.90. She has been an amazing advocate for the American Heart Association in her time at Roby Elementary.

Deacon Comstock-1st Grader (Thornton) was our 2nd highest earner with $622.48. Thank you for being a Heart Hero!
