We just received the Matthew Curtis Allen Memorial Scholarship information; students may pick up an application in the Counseling Office. Students must have a 3.0 GPA to apply; completed applications must be returned to the Counseling Office no later than the morning of May 29th.

Ms. Lorraine Walker McLaughlin, a member of the Bullitt County Board of Education, offers a scholarship each year in honor of her mother who was a nurse. Applicants should be planning to become a registered nurse. The scholarship amount is $1,500. The deadline to submit an application is May 4th; paper applications may be obtained in the counseling office.

We just received a new scholarship opportunity today. It is through the Bullitt County Homemakers and it is a $200 text book scholarship. Applicants must have a 19 on the ACT and a 3.0 GPA. Please stop by the Counseling Office to pick up a copy of the application.

There will be a prom dress sale at Hebron Middle School tonight; it is sponsored by the Youth Service Center. The sale will be in the cafeteria from 1:00-4:00. There will be a great selection of beautiful dresses at VERY affordable prices.

The University of Louisville will be offering a free Women in Engineering Day event for high school females on April 1st. from 1pm-4pm. This event will allow female high school students to connect with college students studying in the fields of their interests. They will also offer in depth information about some of the fascinating things that go on at J.B. Speed School. To get more information on this event and to register follow the link below.

Students and guests will have the unique opportunity to interact with current female engineering students, staff and department faculty through panels and informational sessions specific to women in engineering. Speed School tours will also be offered throughout the day.

Norton Healthcare invites high school seniors to apply for the 2015 Norton Healthcare James R. Petersdorf High School Scholarship. Each $1,000 scholarship is made possible through the generous support of the Norton Healthcare James R. Petersdorf Fund and will be applied towards Fall 2015 college tuition. The William Tolbert Whittenberg Scholarship for Performing Arts Excellence is a scholarship to be used solely for advanced professional training in the performing arts and may be used towards such expenses as tuition, apprenticeship with a coach or company, seminars or workshops or advanced study. The scholarship may NOT be used for the purchase of instruments or equipment.
The application deadline is March 30, 2015 at 11:59pm. To apply, complete an online application at www.fundforthearts.com under programs on the top menu bar, send 2 letters of recommendation and an essay stating career goals, scholarship need and intended use of the funds. The Ford-Rayhill Real Estate Team is offering 2 scholarships, each worth $500 that may be used at any college. The application deadline is March 31, 2015; to apply, students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, a 2015 graduate, plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college starting in the fall of 2015. Morehead State University is having an open house on Saturday, March 7th. This is open to all students currently in or above the 7th grade. The Kentucky Federation of Republican Women are offering a scholarship. They will grant one scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a college-bound high school senior girl who has been politically active within the Republican Party during her high school career. All applicants should be 2015 graduates and registered as a Republican. Applicants must plan to enroll at an accredited college or university in Kentucky. Students may pick up an application in the Guidance Office.

WKU will be hosting a preview day called FOCUS ON WKU. It will be held on Saturday, April 25th 2015. You will have the opportunity to tour campus, meet with the admissions staff, and discuss academic majors with faculty. For more information and to sign up for this event please go to www.wku.edu/focus

Focus on WKU is a day event where prospective students have the opportunity to visit the Bowling Green campus to learn more about the University. There are various presentations, tours, and an expo schedule throughout the day.
