Beautiful You!
What we wear and how it fits our body can impact our confidence and how we interact with the world. Regardless of our “size” or body shape, there are strategies for wearing clothing, shoes, and accessories that flatter and help us feel our best. Our “Beautiful You” Lesson Series is filled with tips on selecting styles that balance our body proportions while emphasizing that feeling good in our clothes is more important than looking good in our clothes. We will explore the concepts of fit and fashion, shapes of shoes, better bras, appropriate accessories, and colors that complement. Join us for these engaging lessons as we discuss how to choose clothing that makes us smile every time we get dressed.

‼️Invasive species alert‼️: A new find of the Asian longhorned tick in Kentucky. Unfortunately, a population of these invasive blood feeders was recently discovered and confirmed in Boone County, Kentucky. This is the fifth find in the state, after incidents in Martin, Floyd, Metcalfe, and Madison Counties.
https://kentuckypestnews.wordpress.com/2021/08/03/asian-longhorned-tick-on-cow-in-northern-kentucky/
So far, no males of this tick have been found in America. The females are able to reproduce on their own, much like we see with some aphids. This means their populations can explode on an animal and we have seen cases of death in animals due to blood loss caused by these ticks. So far, this species hasn’t been documented to vector diseases to people, we are much more worried about our wildlife and the beef cattle, horses, and other livestock of the Bluegrass state. Keep your eyes peeled and ask for help with weird outbreaks of ticks on your animals.

When it comes to taxes, the distinction between a farming operation and a hobby farming operation is important and can also be confusing.

"This is a very important distinction to both the farmer and the IRS due to the IRS treatment of business income versus “hobby” income."

Tarrah Hardin, KFBM Area Extension Specialist, has compiled a list of considerations for farmers and producers to prove they are a farming operation and should be treated as such by the IRS.
