Shepherd's 12th president, Dr. James A. Butcher, sat down today with our 17th president, Dr. Cam Wesson, to share stories, reflect on the University’s past, and look toward its future.

As one of Shepherd's longest-serving presidents, Dr. Butcher helped shape the University as we know it today. We’re so grateful for Dr. Butcher's best wishes as President Wesson begins this new chapter.

Here's to the legacy that brought us here and to the future that’s next! 🐏

🎉 Congratulations to Shepherd Dining Services Chef Manager Todd Geisbert on earning a bronze medal at the 2026 Aramark Culinary Excellence National Competition! 🥉

After taking gold at both the district and regional levels, Chef Todd competed among Aramark's top collegiate chefs from across the country and brought home national recognition for Shepherd University Dining.

We're incredibly proud of this outstanding accomplishment and grateful for the passion, creativity, and service Chef Todd brings to campus every day. Join us in congratulating him! 👏💙💛

🏆 Congratulations and good luck to Chef Todd Geisbert!

Chef Todd is headed to the Aramark Culinary Excellence (ACE) National Competition at the Culinary Institute of America at Copia in Napa Valley, California, where he'll represent Shepherd University and the Mid-Atlantic Region.

After earning Gold Medal honors at both the District and Mid-Atlantic Regional ACE competitions, Chef Todd has advanced to compete alongside Aramark's top chefs from across the country—a remarkable achievement that reflects his talent, creativity, and dedication to his craft.

Please join us in wishing Chef Todd the very best as he takes the national stage. We're proud to have him representing the Ram community!

As America celebrates 250 years of independence, Shepherd University joins communities across the nation in commemorating this historic milestone.
In observance of Independence Day, University offices will close at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, and remain closed on Friday, July 3. Offices will reopen Monday, July 6.
We wish the entire Ram Fam a safe and happy Independence Day.
