So let's get this year started, hope everyone had a safe New Year. Tires need traction, but they need proper air pressure to preform. How often do you check your tire pressure? Does cold weather effect it? Why is it so important? ...You ride on 4 contact points, IE, tires, about the size of your hand. Heat and cold will always effect preasure, if you do not have the correct inflation pressure, your contact patch..where the rubber meets road will be affected. Think about that, my left front tire is low, so I need to avoid a child chasing a ball into the street. I need to turn quickly right. As steering is input, a large demand of traction is put on that tire, it can't preform. So, you continue to demand traction from that tire, continue to think the steering wheel will turn the vehicle, you look up and see that kid, your instincts have already kicked in. You have been Appling break preesure, but No traction. We will not let this scenario play out, Every time you get gas, take 2 minutes, do a walk around and check your tires. That is the only thing connecting you, too the road. Drive safe!!

We have been busy, I will make sure we keep this page updated, in the next 2 months we will be doing teenage pretrip classes as well as as basic driving. Topics we will cover, "Dad, I have a flat"..How do I change a tire. "Mom what does the Orange light mean on the dash" basic information found in the owners manual, and how to use it. Every driver should be able to find information on their vehicle. How to understand that information, and most importantly, does it effect, or impact my driving. Distractions, they are a part, but not the only cause of accidents..IE, looking at your phone, you drop 2 tires off the edge of the road, you jerk the wheel..Number one cause in over correction deaths.

Summer time, check that tire preasure!! Heat and low air preasure are big tire destroyers. Low air preasure Generates more heat than a properly inflated tire. Drive safe.

How many young drivers know how to change a tire? Part of the young drivers training program should always include basics. Jump starting, tire changing, fluid checks ect. What's a fuse? How do you change one? Keep in mind road side assistance, may be a long time or a bad guy away.

Under what set of circumstances will someone use the training provided? That should be the measuring tool. If there is no use, other than checking a box, it, and your direction has no real direction. It is simply doing. Make it count every time!
