Wine Unwrapped For over 25 years I have been conducting wine tasting classes, wine dinners and presentations. Learn about wine in the comfort of your own home or office.

I do various types of wine tastings and presentations from informal, in-home classes, public tastings and wine dinners. For over 25 years, I've worked as a wine retailer, consultant, wine journalist, and as a wine educator. I've completed The Wine Academy of Spain program and is now a Certified Spanish Wine Educator. I'm also a member of The Wine Century Club. I have traveled to many of the world'

s greatest wine producing regions to further his own education. One of my most recent trips was to Burgundy and both the Northern and Southern Rhone Valley. I've also spent time in Australia, Spain, California, New York and Canada visiting vineyards and wineries. Currently, I run a weekly educational tasting at a local wine shop, conducts wine classes at several locations, assists in the tasting room and conducts classes at Jones Family Winery and organizes both public and private tasting events. I have also taught Wine Appreciation classes at the University of New Haven. Now that I'm retired after 31 years of public school teaching, I am ready to devote all my energies into wine education.

Sadly, it is time to say goodbye to Maltose Express and Veracious Brewing Company. Mark and Tess are closing both businesses. They have encouraged many wine and beer makers for over 30 years. Many of us have learned how to make our wines and beers better because of them. Cheers to them and the staff for their years of dedication.

Now that we are practicing social distancing it is difficult to do traditional wine tastings. fortunately there are many platforms with which you can do a tasting remotely. I have attended several and conducted a few. The best have you tasting along with the host. With a little preparation and communication you can have everyone in the geographically diverse group have the same or similar wines to taste. These pics are from a recent South African wine theme.
