If you walked by Mr. Harris' classroom recently, you might have noticed a large group of third grade engineers working hard on various projects.
They were tasked with two engineering challenges. One was to design and build the tallest tower using 20 spaghetti noodles and 20 marshmallows. Widman had 27.5 inches of height!
The second challenge was to use a bag of materials to test and redesign a cart that utilized a bearing/axel system that would roll across the whole carpet.
Take a look at the photos here. They were up to the challenge!

Yesterday, fourth grade classes went on a wonderful field trip to Little Skookum Shellfish Growers Farm. The kids were able to try shellfish, identify types of plankton using microscopes, search for living organisms on the beach and so much more. This was the best hands-on science experience!

๐๐Honors for more great kids! ๐๐
These students were "caught" following the Mt. View Pledge to Be Kind, Be Safe, Be a Learner. They received confetti (notes) which were drawn by Dr. Ness.
Great job, Mt. View Vikings!

Flag Day is on June 14th. Since we won't be at school, the members of the 40 et 8 presented all of our first graders with flags last Friday. They also taught the students about the history of the flag and flag etiquette. We appreciate their generosity, knowledge and service. Our kids learned some valuable information from them!
