🎉🏆 Our First Class Assembly Competition of the Year! 🏆🎉

Last week during our PLC Scheduled Wednesday, our students brought the energy, teamwork, and school spirit for our first class assembly competition of the year!

Classes battled it out in:
🎈 Keeping a balloon in the air
❌⭕ Tic-Tac-Toe
🛷 Mat sliding
💪 Tug-of-war

And a special shout-out to Team Victory, where we had an exciting three-way tie! 🎉

There were lots of smiles, cheering, teamwork, and friendly competition throughout the afternoon. What a fun way to build community and celebrate our students!

¡Reunión del PTSO de Olympic este jueves! 🦅

¡Es momento de unirnos para apoyar a nuestros estudiantes y hacer que su experiencia escolar sea aún mejor!

Nuestro PTSO ayuda a que Olympic sea mucho más que un lugar al que los estudiantes vienen a clases. Ayuda a crear una comunidad donde pueden convivir, crecer, celebrar y divertirse. El PTSO apoya actividades sociales, equipo, materiales para los salones, proyectos de los maestros, refrigerios y muchas otras oportunidades que no siempre están cubiertas por el presupuesto escolar básico.

Nuestra venta anual de chocolates es el proyecto más grande del PTSO y recauda más de $30,000 cada año. ¡Todo ese dinero regresa directamente a nuestra comunidad escolar! Para lograrlo, necesitamos el apoyo de nuestras familias.

Olympic PTSO Meeting This Thursday! 🦅

It’s time to come together to support our students and enhance their school experience!

Our PTSO helps turn Olympic from simply a place students attend into a community where they connect, grow, celebrate, and have fun. PTSO funding supports student socials, equipment, classroom materials, teacher projects, snacks, and other meaningful opportunities beyond what basic education funding can provide.

Our annual chocolate fundraiser starts in October and is PTSO’s largest project, raising more than $30,000 each year—money that goes directly back into the OMS community. Making this possible takes all of us!

🦅 New to the Nest!

Today’s featured Eagle is…Mr. Dinklage!

My name is Jacob Dinklage, and I am excited to be joining the OMS community this year as our Multilingual Learner Specialist!

While my primary role will be supporting our Multilingual Learners, I’m looking forward to getting to know students and families throughout the entire OMS community. This will be my first full-time K-12 position, but I’ve had the opportunity to teach in a variety of educational settings. I’ve taught English in Spain, worked as a teaching artist at the Olympia Family Theater, and substituted throughout the North Thurston School District.

I currently live in Olympia, where I’ve called home for the past 10 years, but I’m originally from Medford, Massachusetts, just outside of Boston. I live with my partner, Lex, our cat, Goose, and several fish tanks! Outside of school, I enjoy playing music, riding my bike, practicing and teaching martial arts, dancing, playing video games, reading sci-fi, and doing improv comedy.

Most of all, I love learning new things, and I’m excited to learn about the interests, cultures, experiences, and passions our students bring to OMS. I can’t wait to meet everyone and become part of this incredible community!
