Washington State Shaolin Kenpo history and interesting facts: Pacific Shaolin Kenpo, Aberdeen, Wa. Established 1994. is Honored to be told by Rob Castro, head of the International Shaolin Kenpo Association, ISKA, that our school has 31 Years in 'Good Standing' within the ISKA.
Shaolin Kenpo has a wonderful History in Washington state beginning in 1969 under Rick and Maria Warwick. The two produced many Black Belts in our area. Pacific Shaolin Kenpo and it's owners at the time; including Sue Messenger and john Kraft, were under the guidance of Ralph Castro and Maria Warwick and we were honored to have their Blessing.

In this group photo are many notable martial artists, including Shaolin Kenpo GGM Rob Castro, Sifu John Kraft and Mr. Sam Kraft, sitting behind Bill "Superfoot" Wallace. GGM Rob Castro was nominated by GM Jessie Bowen for having 60 plus years in the arts. I was nominated by GGM Rob Castro and my son Sam Kraft also qualified for this award.
It was spectacular and both Cynthia and Bill Wallace offered seminars, along with a class on swordsmanship by a Master from Japan. The food and the company was outstanding. Congratulations to the Shaolin Kenpo family. Stay true to your roots and support the Castro family, owners of the Brand 'Ralph Castro's Shaolin Kenpo'. As the Northwest Representative to Ralph Castro's International Shaolin Kenpo Association, it is my honor to direct all Shaolin Kenpo practitioners back home to our true leadership. Those who have Association schools like my family: Pacific Shaolin Kenpo, est. 1994, and even Shaolin Kenpo Martial Arts, and the many Association schools on the Circle of Iron aren't owners of the brand, but users of the brand. Just notes.. Senior Grandmaster Hancock, the one talking with the tattered belt is a Grandmaster in American Kenpo. He is standing next to the founder SGM Edmund K. Parker. He still wears the same belt, now white and thin with age.
I had the honor of meeting and working with Mr. Hancock in Mexico at the IKC 2024. He asked me to assist him teach a class in Mexico, 2024. It was a fun class and I learned a lot. This was my first experience teaching Internationally.
