I can usually tell within 2 minutes of hearing how a woman talks about drinking why she feels stuck.
And no, it’s not because she’s weak.
It’s not because she “just needs more discipline.”
And it’s definitely not because she hasn’t tried hard enough.
These are the patterns I notice:
1. She keeps saying, “I don’t even drink that much.”
But she thinks about drinking way more than she wants to admit.
2. She promises herself she’ll “just have one or two.”
Then spends the next morning feeling disappointed, foggy, anxious, and annoyed with herself.
3. She waits for the perfect time to take a break.
After the BBQ.
After vacation.
After the busy week.
After summer.
But somehow there’s always something coming up.
4. She treats alcohol like a reward.
Even when the “reward” steals her sleep, her patience, her confidence, and her next morning.
5. She thinks taking a break means she has to decide forever.
You don’t.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is give yourself 30 days of space and finally see what life feels like without alcohol running the background.
That’s exactly what we’re doing inside the ✨ I’m Too Old for Hangovers Dry July Challenge ✨
A realistic, supportive, 30-day alcohol-free reset for people who are tired of waking up feeling like they broke a promise to themselves again.

My weekends used to revolve around drinking, recovering from hangovers, and trying to piece back together my memory from the night before.
These days my weekends revolve around whatever the hell I want them to revolve around really. Having fun with my kids, hanging out with my husband, doing some chores, or relaxing.
I like my weekend so much better this way.
You know what I think is wildly underrated?
Finding out who you are without alcohol taking up so much space.
Not forever.
Not with some dramatic declaration.
Just July.
✨ One month of not waking up with a hangover.
✨ One month of not piecing together the night before.
✨ One month of not wasting half your weekend recovering.
And by August?
You might feel like an entirely different person.
We’re too old to keep repeating the same s**t over and over. Let’s do a Dry July together.

Get in! We’re being hangover free in July!!
Yes, I stole (borrowed 🤷♀️) these ideas from James Clear’s Atomic Habits, and they helped me ditch alcohol once and for all.
A few that changed everything for me:
1️⃣ Focus on systems, not just the goal.
2️⃣ Get 1% better instead of trying to become a whole new person overnight.
3️⃣ Every action is a vote for the person you’re becoming.
Want these to make a little more sense into how they apply to your alcohol free journey? (And learn a few more?)

This had been a part of my identity since I was 16!
It was HARD to leave that part of me behind.

It’s not so much about how much you drink but instead how you think about alcohol in your everyday life.

Sometimes the hardest part of quitting drinking isn’t just saying no to alcohol.
It’s breaking the routines alcohol attached itself to.
The after-work drink.
The wine while cooking.
The Friday night “reward.”
In this week’s episode, I’m talking about the simple habit shifts that can help you make not drinking feel less like a fight and more like your new normal.
Comment PODCAST so I can send you the complete podcast episode where I break all of this down.
