Our 4th grade students enjoyed a sweet celebration during their last library visit of the year!

To wrap up their time in the library, students were treated to root beer floats and ice cream sundaes—a fun and well-deserved way to celebrate a great year of reading, learning, and growing.

What a perfect (and delicious!) way to end their library time in elementary school!

One of Mrs. Velky's dreams as our Media Associate has been to put a book into the hands of every child—and this year, that dream became a reality!

Thanks to the incredible support of our families through our annual Scholastic Book Fairs, every student was able to bring home a special book of their own to enjoy.

We are so grateful for the families who support our book fairs year after year. Your participation helps foster a love of reading and creates meaningful opportunities for our students. Thank you for helping make this special moment possible for every child!

What a fun way to wrap up the school year!

A huge shout-out to our Physical Education team for another amazing Field Day. Students and families had an absolute blast participating in all the games, activities, and friendly competition to end the day!

Field Day is always one of the highlights of the year, and it wouldn't be possible without the hard work, creativity, and enthusiasm of our PE team. Thank you for helping us end the school year with laughter, smiles, and memories that will last all summer long!

Our 2nd and 3rd graders enjoyed a final field trip to Fontana Park!

Students had the opportunity to see real animals, explore nature, and spend time playing at the park with their classmates. It was a wonderful day filled with learning, adventure, and fun.

What a great way to celebrate the end of the school year and make lasting memories during our final week!

Some of our 3rd and 4th grade students from Prairie West and Shell Rock Elementary had a very special field trip the last week of school! These select students served as our Art Ambassadors as part of our LIM program, these students kept our displays beautiful and our art rooms tidy, while showing outstanding leadership throughout the 2025-2026 school year. Our art ambassadors had the exciting opportunity to go behind the scenes at UNI and learn about the inner workings of the Go Hawks statues. Along the way, they enjoyed lunch together, participated in fun activities, and made lasting memories with friends from both schools.

Families, don't forget! Our Statue Celebration will be held on September 18th. Please take good care of your T-shirts over the summer so you're ready to wear them for this special event!

As a culminating experience, some Extended Learning Program (ELP) students participated in a collaborative cross-grade experience. Kindergarten through fourth graders took on the challenge of imagining, designing, and constructing a floating device using pool noodles that could hold weight. Students also engaged in the engineering design process as they tested and improved their floatation creations. First graders shared their original created board games and fourth graders led younger students through their invented escape room-style activity, Breakout EDU. The experience encouraged creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and innovation across grade levels.

Yesterday was a very special day for Mr. McGrane’s 4th graders and their families as we celebrated 4th Grade Graduation! 🎓💛

This special tradition is something Shell Rock Elementary looks forward to each year as we honor our 4th grade students and celebrate all they have accomplished before heading off to middle school.

We are so proud of each and every student and know you will do GREAT things!

What a FUN way to celebrate the last week of school!

Today was filled with laughter, smiles, and lots of silly string as we made some final memories together before summer break. We are going to miss our amazing students and staff so much, and moments like these remind us just how special our school family is!

Ms. S’s Kindergarten class wrapped up the final few days of school with a fun field trip to the Youth Pavilion and the Place to Play Park in Cedar Falls!
