🍽️ Community Sunday Brunch Is Back!

We’re excited to welcome the community back to Northwest Iowa Community College for Sunday brunch beginning October 4!

We were overwhelmed by the wonderful response to Sunday brunch last spring, with 100 to 175 guests joining us each week. To ensure we have enough food, give everyone plenty of time and space to dine, and keep the dining area clean and welcoming, we are trying a new process this fall.

Brunch will have two seating times:

• 11:00 a.m.
• Noon

Each seating is limited to 75 guests and will close once it is full. Reservations must be made by the end of the day on the Friday before each brunch. Because seating is limited, we will not be able to accommodate walk-ins.

Seating will be community dining style, so guests may be seated at a table with other community members.

Cost:

• Adults: $12
• Children ages 0–3: Free
• Children ages 4–9: $1 per year of age

A busy morning on campus for Junior Career Day! 💡

High school juniors had the chance to explore a variety of careers through different sessions this morning. From healthcare and skilled trades to other career paths, students got a look at some of the many opportunities available to them after high school!

A big thank you to all of the presenters who took the time to share their knowledge and experiences with students!

More training opportunities. More paths to a career. More support for Northwest Iowa’s workforce.

Northwest Iowa Community College will receive $385,427 as part of the $10.8 million statewide Iowa STRONG grant to develop short-term training focused on industrial maintenance, manufacturing design and related technical skills.

The goal: training tailored to local employer needs, with credentials that help students prepare for employment or build toward a degree. NCC will also work to make these programs eligible for Workforce Pell Grants, helping qualifying students pay for their training.

⚡ THUNDER ATHLETICS RECAP | September 23–27 ⚡

⛳ A new team school record! Men’s golf shot 311 (+23) at the Waldorf Invitational. Carson Arens led NCC with a 74, tying for fourth among 56 players.

🎯 Sports Shooting: Kollyn Wiemers placed second with a 95/100, and Madelyn Kelley placed third in the women’s competition. Iowa Lakes won 470–308.

🏐 Volleyball: NCC fell 3–0 to NIACC while continuing to improve its hitting and defense. Maddie Huisman recorded four service aces, 12 digs and 13 assists.

⚽ Soccer: Both teams faced NIACC and Iowa Lakes. The men fell 3–0 to NIACC and 8–0 to Iowa Lakes; the women fell 4–0 in both games.
