As the school year comes to an end, I wanted to have a special post to thank everyone that has served either on the board with me or has been a coordinator or even a constant “volunteer” with me! Because let’s face it, without these people, I wouldn’t have been able to do the things I have done.
My amazing previous treasurer, Carmen Fansler. She taught me so much! And my treasurer for the last few years, has been my saving Grace for a lot of frustrated times, Jessica Larrison, I will miss you lady! Board members old and present, Paige Wise, Krystal Barnard, Travis Brown, Lauren Smiley. Coordinators and “volunteers that went above their call of duty. Copy Cat Coordinator, Katie Haas, that was last year. But this year for carnival and Wizard help! I truly appreciate you. Swag Coordinator previously, Becky Allen, I have missed you this year and truly grateful for the friendship that came from it. My volunteer coordinator that has been with me from the start and has done way more than her coordinator tasks, Tiffany Craig! Tiff, thankful for another great friendship that came from PTO! A huge helper this year for everything, Jenna Robinson. Jenna, you have helped any way shape or form that was needed. Thank you for it all. And I thanked her already up above, but she deserves her own little shout out also. My Vice President, who came to the first PTO mtg this year and I knew from that day, that I’m going to grab onto her and not let her go, Lauren Smiley!! I hate to see you go, as HES, would have loved having you take my place. But again, thankful for another friendship from PTO. You’re an amazing person, volunteer, and friend!

Again, thank you to all of the people that held positions with me past or present! You all have left a special place on my heart and at some point helped keep me sane during all of it!!

SAW: Theme “Friends”
It was another fun theme and fun week. Every year we hear, this was the best week ever. Here are some fun photos of the week. We are bad at remembering to capture the moment. But the schedule we had is the first photo.

Monday: We had a Lemonade Shake Up Bar!! And then each staff member was able to make a Succulent Terrarium, which was so neat. But we couldn’t have done the terrariums without the complete donation from Lowe's Home Improvement in Franklin Indiana!!

Tuesday: Self Care Bar with cute zipper pouch and items for themselves! Then they had a Potato Bar with all the toppings. (Washing, foiling, baking and transporting, 85 Potato’s, is not for the weak!!)

Wednesday: Papa John’s Pizza, Salad and donated breadsticks from Bellacinos! Thank you Bellacinos for donating breadsticks for our staff!

Thursday: Donated pastries from Starbucks! And coffee or dirty soda delivered to their classes by PTO, from the Iconic Coffee truck!

Friday: We ended our week on a high note! We had the best and most amazing Friends themed cookies from Karen Barker! Check out photo! Then we had Blind Date with a Book! So much fun not knowing what book you’re getting other than the genre! Wrapped by a good friend of Jenna Robinson. And decorated by PTO President!

Thank you HES staff, specials teachers and classroom teachers, for all you do for HES and especially our kids. We love you all!!!

My last Staff Appreciation Week has come to an end! Last week was filled to the brim with lots of spoiling of the HES staff and little to no sleep for the HES PTO President! But I wouldn’t have it any other way! The last TAW theme of “Friends” seemed so fitting. Being a part of the PTO, has brought so many friendships among moms but also the staff. Most everyone knows when the PTO board or members are at the school. And they welcome us with open arms and never hesitate to thank us in the hallway or they are sure to tell us that we’re the best PTO they have ever seen, especially among all the schools. I will be posting some fun photos of the week, on the next post. But as my 4 years of being the President comes to an end this month, I want to thank all of the HES staff, even the ones that have left us, and the administration and of course all the kids. It’s so funny when one of the kids see me and they find out I’m the PTO President, they look at me and think I’m like someone very important. I just love all of them and their hugs and smiles.

All of this is bittersweet, as my family is ready for me to be at home more and not in my craft room planning and creating for the PTO, they will also miss seeing my ideas come to life!! I have so many fun and exciting ideas in my crazy brain, but being a perfectionist causes my ideas to come to life, but takes way longer than they should!

Thank you to everyone at HES for supporting me, Mrs. Tilley for going along with some of my super crazy ideas, and the secretaries for not being annoyed by my presence every time I’m walking through the office doors.

It’s been a great 4 years HES PTO, but it’s time to pass down all the binders. ♥️💗❤️

A huge thank you to Ashley Massey, Brittany Zimny and Financial Solutions for their donations for our Staff Appreciation Week coming up May 4-8th!! The 2 families and the business, have always been amazing donors for our Hendricks PTO. We have an Amazon Wish List that has items on there to make that week happen so we can spoil our amazing Hurricane Staff. They cleared a ton off our list! We still have a few items left, so I wanted to share it again and see if we can get the remaining items for this special week!

Help us in celebrating Hendricks Elementary best of the best! STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK!
MAY 4-8TH!!

This week is normally called Teacher Appreciation Week, but here at Hendricks, the PTO likes to change it to the SAW. We like to appreciate all the staff in the building, teachers, specials teachers, lunch people, amazing aides, front office staff and all others, so it comes out to about 85ish people that we get to spoil for 1 week. Every year since I have been with the PTO, we have done a theme, and everyone enjoys this because not only do the staff members join in on the fun but so do the students. Dressing up and having fun with all their teachers. So, this year I wanted something special since it's my last year here at Hendricks, so this year we are doing the theme, "Friends." Yes, the fun and exciting sitcom, that everyone has loved at one point, "Friends!" We have every single day planned out with a lot of preparation that goes into all of this, so were all working on things to make sure this week is very special for everyone. With that being said, we do have an Amazon Wish List, to help offset some of the costs for the plans for each day. As you all know, the PTO is a non-profit organization that works hard all year long gathering donations. So, anything helps. Even purchasing 1 small little item off the wish list. We would love to share each special day with you, but it's fun to keep things a secret for staff members. But if you would love to be a part of volunteering this week, please just email me. Or if you just want to know the fun details that is planned for this week, again, just email me. We love having volunteers come and join us. The wish list is below, and even if you can please share it, that would be amazing.

Happy Sunday Hurricane Families!

Our chocolate fundraiser has come to an end! And you all have truly blew our goal away!!!

Just a couple reminders again:

1. ALL envelopes turned in, have to have $80 inside of them! Unfortunately, if you opened the box, they can’t be returned, even if you didn’t sell any of the bars.
2. Please send in the money with your student, tomorrow Monday, April 13th. If we don’t receive your money tomorrow, your student will be coming home with a reminder sticker, so they can bring it to school on Tuesday.
3. If there are issues and something is causing some issues with financial burden, please email the PTO President, @ [email protected].

We will help any way we can.

JUST A COUPLE REMINDERS FOR THE LAST WEEK OF SELLING AND SOME THINGS WE HAVE SEEN HAPPEN A FEW TIMES

1. If you want another box of candy bars, you HAVE to sign the line on the envelope. We have had several messages from teachers that parents have stated that they didn't receive another box and they wanted it. So, please just sign that line and we will definitely leave you another box.
2. We currently have 7 boxes of Caramel left, and we can't send these back. If you want a box of just Caramel, just write us a note on the envelope and we will leave you a box.
3. You all have done amazing this year and because of that, we have had 2 EXTRA deliveries, and we are getting another one tomorrow!! Keep up the amazing work!
4. Every single box is $80, per the form, it states 40 bars = $80, with $40 profit for Hendricks PTO. If you OPEN the box of bars, you can't return them, so you have to pay the $80. We will be sending home reminders with all students that still have money out, beginning Monday. ALL money is due this coming Friday, April 9th!! Once we receive everyone's money, then we can start getting the dates for prizes all together!!

WE TRULY CAN'T WAIT TO CELEBRATE ALL OF THESE STUDENTS AND THEIR HARD WORK!! THIS YEAR'S SALES HAVE TRULY BEEN THE HIGHEST YET!! AND IT'S ALL BECAUSE OF THE GREAT WORK OF THE HURRICANES!!
