The Shelby County Humane Society visited Clear Creek Head Start during their pet study!
Children learned how to keep pets safe while traveling, explored different collars, harnesses, and carriers, and discovered other pet care supplies. To top it off, each child “adopted” a cat to take home—such a fun and meaningful experience!

Old Mill kiddos had so much fun learning about fireflies as we transitioned from our Light Unit to our Insect Unit! Using books and technology, we explored how they glow and brought our learning to life in the art center.
Children created glowing fireflies with paint, made jars to “catch” them, and built light-up fireflies using plastic eggs and LED lights—so much creativity and hands-on fun

🔨🎨 As part of OVEC Head Start's “buildings” study, our students became little builders! Using toy hammers, cotton ball “nails,” and bright paint, they tapped and splattered their way to colorful creations. A hands-on way to explore our building theme through creativity, movement, and sensory play.

Everyday items can be poisonous. Items like detergent pods, cleaners, mouthwash, soap, or medicines should never be left out.
🧼 Always close lids and caps tightly.
🧼 Keep products stored up, away, out of sight, and preferably in a locked box or cabinet.
🧼 Use child-resistant containers whenever possible, but remember nothing is 100% childproof.
