💛 ONCE A DORMAN KID, ALWAYS A DORMAN KID! 💛
One of the greatest gifts of being part of Dorman for over 60 years is getting to watch our little friends grow up—and sometimes, getting to see them come right back and pour a little love into the place that helped them grow. 🥹🌿
This week, we had a very special delivery from former Dorman preschooler and now 6th grader, Emalyn! As part of her Girl Scout Junior Bronze Award project, Emalyn created and donated a beautiful new Buddy Bench for our Dorman friends. 💚
The purpose of a Buddy Bench is simple, but so meaningful: it gives children a special place to sit when they are looking for someone to play with, talk to, or connect with. It creates opportunities for children to notice one another, invite someone into their play, build friendships, practice empathy, and strengthen those incredibly important social-emotional skills—all through the magic of childhood connection. 🫶
Emalyn and her family have been such a special part of the Dorman family for many years. Although their preschool days are behind them, they have continued to love, support, and help Dorman grow—and that means more to us than we could ever say.
Now, a bench built by a former Dorman kid will help a whole new generation of Dorman kids find a friend. 🥹🦋
