Hello followers. My name is Alisha Destulien. I have been honored with the privilege of purchasing the building from the Pearcys and we are in the process of opening something new and exciting!!!

Big news, Shelbyville! 🎉

We are beyond excited to officially announce that we have CLOSED on our new commercial building located at 221 East Main Street in Shelbyville, Illinois!

Coming to downtown Shelbyville at the end of summer 2026:
🌈 LillyLand Play Cafe ☕🛝

LillyLand Play Cafe will be a fun, welcoming space for families to play, connect, relax, and make memories together. We’ll be bringing an indoor play experience for kids along with a cozy cafe atmosphere for parents and caregivers to enjoy.

This has been a dream in the making, and we cannot wait to share the journey with all of you as renovations begin and LillyLand starts coming to life! 💕

Dear Friends, after nearly 30 years of teaching martial arts, to 1,000+ students, we have accomplished all of our goals and dreams of sharing martial arts and creating the next generation of leaders, through character building of the youth in our community. The Shelbyville location started with a saying “First you Dream, Then you Do.”

We built it from nothing. Martial arts taught us everything.
We learned from great instructors. We learned from our students.
We learned to fail. We learned how to get back up.

When we became instructors, there was a candle ceremony that our instructors used their candle to light ours. It’s only later you appreciate the true meaning of it. The instructor’s candle must sacrifice itself in order continue to light the next candle. Years of teaching requires lots of sacrifice of your, time, energy, and family.

In this business, we built the American dream, raised our kids, met new friends, and worked tirelessly, sometimes 14hrs per day, 6-7 days per week to accomplished all of our dreams.

And now it’s time we make room for the next generation to build their dream. We thank our community for all of the support since 1992. Our building will become available for the next generation of dreamers, as we’ll soon be retiring from teaching Martial Arts.
