CatieBeth Thomas Designs Thank you for visiting my page! CB Thomas Designs is an exploration in nature inspired art. After graduating with a B.A.

in Art Theory, minors in Studio Art and Psychology, I had a life changing emergency surgery due to complications with my Crohn's disease. From that point, I had to prioritize my health. I started working with fiber arts as I recovered from surgery and became immediately immersed in the possibilities with fiber art. I started teaching classes in 2015 and have online courses and kits available on my Etsy shop. I am continually working on weavings and print works. All the pieces I create are one of a kind. I love color and working with paint and fiber allows me the freedom to dye everything by hand any color I choose! I use all natural dyes and get all fiber locally or ethically.

One week from today I am SO excited to be teaching a cyanotype class in partnership with Art of Unburdening, Rutherford Arts Alliance and deeply appreciate Mai, Kara J Kemp and Kory Wells for roping me in. If you have played with cyanotypes before and want a little more instruction, or are brand new to this printmaking technique, you are all welcome to join! We will discuss the history of cyanotypes, the science behind the process, and create one of a kind art works to take home. Each person can bring some special items to them to print (a locket / jewelry, lace table cloth, doily, film negatives, plants from your yard) and I will have fresh and dried plants + photo negative to print. Hope to see y'all there or at our next workshop on 10/21 (same topic and medium)! RSVP: www.rutherfordartsalliance.org/events

Hi friends! An update on our August 18th Art for Inner Exploration Class! The Linebaugh Library will be temporarily closed for renovations so we are taking a month off! See you back at the library for our Sept. free community art class on September 15th from 5:30-6:30! Theme not yet decided but I will share more soon!

Linebaugh is getting new floors!

Our main branch of RCLS will be undergoing renovations throughout August and September. Portions of the library will be closed throughout these months to accomplish these renovations with as little interruption to library services as possible.

UPDATE: This project will begin on August 10th on the second floor.

Thank you so much for your patience during this time.

Hi friends, the summer is flying but I wanted to tell you about this wonderful workshop happening this month. Come dye cotton bandanas with FLOWERS at the TEC, Sunday July 19th from 3:00 - 5:00 pm.
*SOLD OUT* - see comments for details about a waitlist!

This is the second workshop I've facilitated at the Technology Engagement Center this year - we hosted a seed swap in partnership with their seed library in February. The librarians are the best and we always have a great time. We will be using the flowers we planted in March / April for this workshop. I will have a few to share but PLEASE bring your flowers and friends and come make your own eco-printed bandana! Sign up here: https://catiebeththomas.wpcomstaging.com/product/floral-dye-community-workshop-bandnas/

If you have any questions about which flowers give dye, leave me a comment and I will let you know. :)
