Students need to wear jeans, a North Shelby shirt, and tennis shoes both days.

Thursday, students need to be uptown no later than 6:15. Saturday, they need to be at the park no later than 10:30.

It’s that time of year!! Mark your calendars for band camp! The plan this year is for everyone to attend Monday-Friday from 8 am to 11 am and then work one on one with specific sections until noon each day.

Come join us tonight at the JH/HS Spring Concert and Art Show as we showcase our amazing band and fine art students! Music Boosters will also be holding their annual desert auction and have a prize walk!

We will be doing a prize walk rather than a cake walk! Students need to bring a $5 per family summer fun item for prizes. If you are willing to make a cake to be served after the concert or have a special item for the auction, please contact the music board, or myself. The board includes Katie Wiley, Shana Hicks, Holly Copenhaver and Stephanie Barnhard.

We had three students perform at District Solo and Small Ensemble today in Kirksville. Congratulations to Aiden Bertoni and Zander Rupert for receiving an Outstanding rating on their baritone and trombone solos. Another congratulations to Rylie Dunn and Zander Rupert for receiving Exemplary ratings on their vocal solos and continuing on to State competition!

Today, the North Shelby concert band performed at the State Music Festival for large ensembles at Truman State University and received an Exemplary rating. This would be equivalent to a 1 rating back in the day. I’m so incredibly proud of these students and all the hard work they put into this contest season!

The high school band will be performing at 12:40 on Friday, March 6 at the Ophelia Parrish Performance Hall at Truman State University for their Large Group Contest. They’ve been working hard in preparing for this and I’m excited to see how we do! Hope to see some faces in the crowd to support your excellent students and musicians.
