East Middle School Choir and Drama Club

East Middle School Drama Club is performing a one-of-a-kind interactive experience next Thursday and Friday at EMS. The Headless Horseman Haunted House is a room-to-room play where the audience will follow the characters of Sleepy Hollow as they celebrate a Harvest Party, tell scary stories by the fire, and declare their romantic intentions. The entire production is student-written, and features opportunities for audience members to actually talk with the characters and learn more about the story through their interactions.

Tickets are $5. Performances will be Thursday and Friday, Nov. 2-3. Performances start every half hour at 6, 6:30, 7, and 7:30 with a maximum of 30 audience members for every performance. Ms. Atteberry again. Thought I'd share something funny that a student said the other day.

I was sitting up in my chair with my leg propped up when a student said, "Ms. Atteberry, maybe for Christmas you should just wish for a new leg."

He had never seen the show, and was very confused when I said, "Oh, like little Palco?"

Ms. Atteberry here! Just wanted to thank everyone for a wonderful experience doing this play together. You all were the best cast we could have asked for, and I feel so blessed to have been a part of this whole thing. Thank you to everyone who had a hand in helping me around and looking our for my crippled self lol

Thank you for my gift! It was so sweet and I cried when I saw all of your signatures. What a beautiful gesture. I will never forget you all ❤

This play has been so much more than that. It's been an experience that has bonded us. We've made friends we never would have encountered if not for this. We've tried new things we never would have been pushed out of our comfort zone enough to try if not for this show. We've become new people, both onstage and offstage. Please don't let it end here. Don't be a stranger. Carry the magic with you down the halls, and everywhere you go.

I have run out of words. You all made my heart grow three sizes today. While we never wish for these kinds of circumstances, watching these students grow, persevere, and make something beautiful reminded me why I do what I do.

Even if we weren’t putting on an awesome show this coming week, I’d be so excited that this production has led to us finally being able to see our entire lovely stage for the first time since I’ve been here.

Tomorrow, from 8-3, I’ll be filling it back up with our set as well as completing a lot of other tasks in anticipation of Monday’s dress rehearsal. If you can spare the time, I’d love a few extra hands to help. Do NOT feel obligated as I know Sunday is largely set aside for family time (as it normally would be for me).

If you decide to come by at any time, pizza lunch will be provided. Just come to entrance #8 by the car-rider lot.
