Hi, I am Hope Brown and I’m excited to join the Turning Point Academy family as the HS English Teacher!!
Stepping into a new chapter with Turning Point Academy feels like the perfect blend of purpose, passion, and community. After a long and meaningful career in financial services, I’m excited to transition into education as an English teacher right here in Cleveland County. Over the years, I’ve loved volunteering with students in CCS through the CTE program, and that experience sparked a deeper desire to support learners in my community.
My background includes a Master’s in Occupational Change and Leadership through Pfeiffer University, a Bachelor’s in Management and Society through UNC Chapel Hill, and decades of service across local schools, youth programs, churches, and civic organizations, investing in Cleveland and Gaston County has always been a part of who I am, and I am grateful for the chance to continue that work in the classroom.
Outside of school, you’ll usually find me traveling to new places and immersing myself in different cultures - learning is my favorite adventure. I’m passionate about helping others grow, whether they’re students, colleagues, or the people I meet along the way.
Most importantly, I am a bother to two incredible me (though they’ll always be my boys) and “Hoppy” to two grandchildren who have absolutely stolen my heart.
I’m looking forward to this next season and to serving the students and families of Cleveland County with everything I’ve learned and everything I’m still learning!!

We are exited to celebrate our 2026 Gradates!! Pleas take note of this important information in reference to graduation:
The TPA Graduation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the Cleveland County Schools Board Room.

Admission is by ticket only. All guests must enter through the Turning Point entrance located at 409 W. Sumter Street. For the safety and security of all attendees, everyone entering the building will be required to pass through a metal detector.

Please note that bags of any kind are strictly prohibited inside the building.

Doors will open at 2:00 p.m. and will close promptly at 2:45 p.m. No entry will be permitted after 2:45 p.m. Please make every effort to arrive on time!!

This week our staff received appreciation from Shelby Presbyterian Church in honor of Teacher Appreciation week!!! A candy bar on Monday; breakfast and bagels on Tuesday; a kit-Kat break on Wednesday; Chic-fil-A biscuits Anita Ware thank you; and lunch on Thursday; and snacks and drinks on today!! Our hearts are full from the selfless love shown to our staff!! Thank you is not enough to express our gratitude!!!
