Sadly, we have learned of another classmate’s passing. Rest in peace, Gregory.
Mr. Gregory “Crip” Hines, 70, of Shelby, NC, was born on July 18, 1955, to the late Ruth and Willie Hines. He passed away on October 3, 2025 at Atrium Health in Shelby.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Roberts Tabernacle CME Church at 1:00 p.m. The reception of family and friends will be from 12 noon until 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.

So today I ran the Run The South 10K, at McApline Creek Park. It was a well run race. I remember going to the park to watch our daughter run the 5K course during her High School Cross Country Days. This was the first time I actually ran any of the trails. Bottom-line, I showed up, I finished and received a towel for finishing 2nd in the male category age 70+! Looking for to running it next year.
