We are proud of the hard work, preparation, and musicianship displayed throughout auditions and look forward to what this talented group will accomplish this season.

After a competitive application and interview process, we are proud to announce the student leaders who will help guide The Shelby Whippet Band during the 2026 season! 🥁 🎺

We would like to thank every student who applied and interviewed for a leadership position this year. The level of interest, preparation, and passion shown throughout the process was outstanding and speaks volumes about the future of our program.

With OVER 120 students signed up for the 2026-2027 Shelby High School Band program, the future of The Shelby Whippet Band is incredibly bright. We are excited to continue building a culture of excellence, leadership, community, and a high level of performance together.

Join us this Monday for The Shelby Whippet Band’s Spring Concert! 🎺🥁🎷

This will be our final concert of the 2025-2026 school year, and our students are excited to share the music they have been working so hard to prepare. Check out the concert program for a preview of the evening’s selections! 🎶

We hope you will join us as we celebrate another incredible year of music and the hard work of our student musicians.

On Saturday, April 18th at Northmor High School, our 7th and 8th grade students participated in OMEA District 10 Solo & Ensemble.

This event was a completely optional performance opportunity - and yet our students showed up in a BIG way with an OUTSTANDING 36 events throughout the day! 🎺🥁That level of participation for an optional event is truly incredible.

Students performed in front of judges and earned Superior, Excellent, and Good ratings, demonstrating their dedication, preparation, and commitment to growing as musicians.

We are incredibly proud of our students for going above and beyond. This kind of participation speaks volumes about the culture and work ethic of our program!

Congratulations to all of these young musicians!! We cannot wait to see what the future holds! ❤️🩶

5th grade students recently had the chance to try out instruments, and this meeting provided important information about joining The Shelby Whippet Band in 6th grade next year.

What a fantastic morning! 🎶🎷🎺🎸🎶

Both the Shelby Middle School Jazz Band and High School Jazz Band performed at the community breakfast this past week, sharing their music with our community. Even more impressive, these ensembles are completely optional and meet only once a week before school. This is a true reflection of our students’ dedication and love of music.

We are so proud of their hard work and grateful for the opportunity to perform! Go Whippets! 🐾

This past week some of our high school Shelby Whippet Band members performed for the entire 5th grade class! 🎺🪊🥁🎷🎶
Students had the opportunity to hear each instrument, enjoy performances of school songs, and try out the instruments they can choose from when they begin band in 6th grade next year.

The future is bright for The Shelby Whippet Band, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing new members in the 6th grade band next year! ❤️ 🩶
