U.S. News Dropped Columbia’s Ranking, but Its Own Methods Are Now Questioned After doubt about its data, the university dropped to No. 18 from No. 2. But now many are asking, can the rating system be that easily manipulated?

There are a couple of new fantastic resources for you online. The first is "Less High School Stress" (sounds good already, right?), which debunks college rankings and does a very convincing job at showing how the top ranked schools aren't terribly different or better than more middle-ranked schools. It has lots of handy factoids, including a list of where currently active NASA astronauts went to college (yes one is from Harvard and there a couple from MIT, but the list also includes Tennessee Tech, NC State, UC Santa Barbara, and Cal State Fullerton- all good schools, but rarely mentioned in the same breath with Yale, which does NOT appear on the list): https://lesshighschoolstress.com/
