Well I know it’s been a little while since we’ve posted about archery. I wanted to just encourage you to start preparing for next season now. Don’t wait until it’s too late.

Start looking at any equipment upgrades now. I would like to see our returning archers have front and back stabilizers, and drop away rests (this is not required but archers would benefit from this if they don’t already have them).

If you are moving into youth (12 years old on Jan. 1 2027) then it would be best to have a 4 or 5 pin sight.

If moving to Young Adult (15 years old on Jan 1 2027) then you will need a 5 pin sight.

I do really implore each archer to make any upgrades now and keep shooting. Stay active as much as possible. As always our friends at Norris will help with equipment upgrades and letting us have a place to practice and fine tune our equipment and shooting form.

This year we will start putting out communications about indoor archery for returning archers in November.

For new archers “tryouts” will be in January (dates will be finalized as we get closer to January).

Just as we have 3 Amazing Seniors the Thunderbirds future is bright! Our Nationals team had 7 archers ready to step up and lead! We are blessed with a bright future on our horizon. Being a Thunderbird is more than a score! Our seniors have helped teach us that through their actions. You embody and have what it takes to always “Keep Soaring”! Now is the time to build upon every lesson. Be proud, but never satisfied!

Brylee Gladden posting her first National top 10 finish at 9th. Big brother Mason Gladden and his never quit attitude! Duncan Pittillo, Madison Roamain, and Jaxson Erhardt putting in work of learning and solid shooting. Raiya Atkins, and Aubree Fredell (first year archers) that have you just know are destined for such big goals in their future! We are so proud of all you have accomplished this year and can’t wait to see your future! Keep Soaring!!!!

On today’s Thunderbird “Nationals” post I wanted to highlight our Amazing Seniors (Makenzie Glenn, Taylor Tongel, Trinity Wright)! These girls have bonded and really anchored our team this year. They have put sweat, tears, and hard work in over the years to help make this program what we see today. I was a little emotional at the end of their last S3DA 3D Nationals.

Makenzie Glenn went out and placed 2nd at Nationals in Young Adult Female Pins, Taylor Tongel put together two solid days for a Top 10 Nationals finish in Young Adult female Open. Trinity Wright had a strong effort and celebrated her birthday with her archery family at Nationals. It was just and all around special time.

In reflecting now I see it was a jumpstart into their next chapter vs the end of the book! Thank you girls for being a part of Thunderbird history, and Family!!!!!!! Keep Soaring!
