Morning Car Rider Families:
We need everyone's help to make morning drop-off efficient so all students can maximize our instructional day that starts at 8 AM.
1. Please have your child practice unbuckling quickly, opening their car door independently, and exiting swiftly.
2. When you enter the line from Wyke Road, your Bee should be ready to roll! Have shoes tied and all items for school zipped up inside the backpack. For safety and efficiency, our car rider line should be screen free zone for everyone in the car!
*Some ideas: instead of phones/iPads: sing, recite an affirmation (I am kind, smart, and will make today amazing!), pray/meditate, play "I Spy", listen to a kid Podcast or audiobook, build math fact fluency, have your Bee read to you...anything to make the most of these moments!
3. Please seat your child on the driver's side if possible.
4. When traffic is stopped, it is safe for students to exit quickly. When you are three or four cars away from Mrs. Sheffield's stop sign, have your child unbuckle, put on their backpack, and be ready to hop out as soon as you come to a safe stop.
5. Please remind your child that it is so important to never cross in between cars unless accompanied by Mrs. Couch or Officer Scism. The safest place for your child to cross is with Mrs. Sheffield or Mrs. Schweppe at the crosswalk.
Again, our instructional day kicks off at 8 AM. All students should be unpacked and in their classrooms at this time. Thank you in advance for your help in smoothing out morning drop off!
