The BTV supports our Beacon Tree staff wherever we can. The BTV needs the help of our Beacon Tree families!

The Beacon Tree Volunteers are a group of parents, teachers, and administrators working together toward a common goal of creating the BEST possible school and the BEST possible educational experience for our children. We purchase anything from technology, safety equipment, books, use of applications like Reflex Math and Mystery Science, to playground and recess equipment, communication folders and

Happy Last Week of School, All-Stars!

On Friday, we snuck in one final treat from the BTV…both for staff AND students. It was unplanned to both do it as we each had a secret up our sleeves lol, but turned out to be super fun because once the staff had theirs, we ended up following behind for the students! They were so excited there was a Sunshine Cart - disguised as a lunch cart lol - coming for them this time!

The Sunshine Cart made its final lap of the year POPPIN’ in to treat the staff to some yummy popcorn and a beverage.

The Lunch Cart Sunshine Cart came by to treat the kids to a quintessential summery carnival treat…some good ol’ cotton candy!

Special thanks goes to Jessica Dunaj for being the Sunshine Cart chair this year and rolling around surprising staff each month. We appreciate you and we know the staff does, too! (Although you’d better stay on your toes because your sweet daughter, Nora, is a pro now and probably coming for your job…) 😉

As you know, our school is getting a new playground this summer! As a way to say farewell to the playground that has provided years and years of fun, friendship, and love to soooo many Beacon Tree kids, we had special banners made. Last night we snuck up and installed them as a surprise. We have one on the lower el playground and one on the upper el playground.

We will be sharing the news with teachers in case they’d like to take a fun class picture between now and Wednesday with the kids spread out on the play structure behind the banner. We thought it would make the perfect little “Kodak moment” as the school year draws to a close. 😍 You’re also more than welcome to come up after school or over the weekend and take some photos with your own kids for those scrapbooks and memory walls!

Thanks for the memories, old playground! Here’s to new adventures this fall! 💙

For all those coming to watch Field Day tomorrow, please stop by the lost and found for one final reuniting! All unclaimed items will be donated after Friday!

Speaking of Field Day, here are a few reminders!

🍧🫧We are excited to sponsor TWO stations thanks to everyone’s generosity during our Fun Run in the fall. We’ll have A’s Sweets & Treats serving up snow cones and Fantastic Foam Party - Michigan's Foam Party Pros is coming back again this year serving up a whole lotta fluffy foam to jump and dance around in!

👕🩳👟🧦 We recommend sending a towel, extra change of clothes and shoes to change into afterwards just in case - particularly for the morning session since they’ll be in class the rest of the day. Between the foam machine, a couple of other stations, and/or just dumping their own water bottle on their head at some point, kids end up a little wet no matter what in the name of fun. 😜

👕Students are encouraged to wear their class Beacon Tree t-shirts or a shirt with their class color.

💦Don’t forget an extra water bottle…it’s gonna be a hot one! 🥵

📧 See Mrs. Lenz’s email for arrival and early dismissal info

SCHEDULE:

⏰9:15-11:15 * K-2 along with Garbacik and Froberger participating

⏰1:30-3:30 * 3-6, young 5s along with Burk and Doss participating

Field Day is ONE WEEK FROM TODAY! (Rain date is Friday, 6/5, but we called Mother Nature and told her to stay the course as originally planned haha!)

Wanna help? Ms. Lundsten needs 5 more parent volunteers for the morning session and 14 more for the afternoon session. Sign up here: https://m.signupgenius.com/ #!/showSignUp/904094FAFAF2EAA8-63952167-field?useFullSite=false

We are excited to sponsor TWO stations again at
Ms. Lundsten’s beloved event! These are possible thanks to everyone’s generosity during our Fun Run in the fall. We’ll have A’s Sweets & Treats serving up snow cones and Fantastic Foam Party - Michigan's Foam Party Pros is coming back again this year serving up a whole lotta fluffy foam to jump and dance around in. If your kid was here last year, you know how epic it was!!

We recommend sending a towel, extra change of clothes and shoes to change into afterwards just in case - particularly for the morning session since they’ll be in class the rest of the day. Most kids end up wet every year simply by dumping their own water bottle on their head at some point, so kids end up a little wet no matter what in the name of fun anyways. 😜

Students are encouraged to wear their class Beacon Tree t-shirts or a shirt with their class color. And don’t forget an extra water bottle…it’s looking like it’s gonna be a hot one!

“The arts are as natural as sunshine and as vital as nourishment.” 🎨🎶📚

Thank you to all the families that came to the first annual Arts, Beats, and Reads event! We enjoyed partnering with some of our amazing staff to make sure the arts are highlighted, appreciated, and shared with our school community! We hope to help make this an annual celebration and expand it even more!

Mrs. Dobis and Ms. Hurst - Thank you for all the love and time you put into our art classes and helping every student create a self-portrait! And thank you for fostering a love of art that was showcased with our district art award winners!

Ms. Burris - Thank you for all the love and time you put into our entire music department, especially our 6th grade band performances! They rocked it!

Mrs. DiBrango - Thank you for all the love and time you put into sparking joy in reading and bringing in the book fair!

Sebastian D’Alessandro - Thank you for sharing your writing talent with us and being a guest student author! A published author in 4th grade?!? The sky’s the limit for you!

Carlo Penna - Thank you for sharing your writing talent with us and being an alumni student author! You left a wonderful legacy at Beacon Tree and we are so proud of your accomplishments. Keep dreaming big!
