Hi Families!

We are so excited for our final camp of the summer: Kindergarten Readiness Camp! Next week is all about helping your child feel confident, capable, and ready for those exciting first few weeks of school!

Throughout the week, we’ll practice many of the academic and independence skills your child will use in Kindergarten, including:

- Letters & letter sounds
- Numbers & counting
- Beginning sight words
- Cutting with scissors
- Gluing & completing classroom activities
- Packing and unpacking belongings
- Opening lunch containers and managing lunchtime independently
- Following directions, classroom routines, and building independence

Please have your child bring a full-size backpack each day. We’ll practice packing up our own belongings so children can become comfortable and confident doing this independently at school.

We are also asking each child to bring a packed lunch each day, just as they would for school. This gives us the opportunity to practice opening lunch boxes, containers, wrappers, drinks, and other items on their own. At the end of lunch, they’ll also practice cleaning up and packing everything back into their lunch box and backpack.

Our goal isn’t for children to have everything mastered before Kindergarten! Instead, we want to give them lots of opportunities to practice, problem-solve, ask for help when they need it, and build the independence and confidence they’ll need in their new classrooms. 💛

Of course, we’ll still make plenty of time for movement, play, and FUN along the way!

We can’t wait to spend one final week of summer camp with your little learners and help send them off to Kindergarten feeling ready and excited for their next big adventure!

Back to school is right around the corner and we are getting so excited for another year at Little Explorers Preschool!

If you’ve been thinking about preschool for your little one this fall, now is a great time to come check us out! We offer small class sizes, lots of hands-on learning, and a play-based environment where children can build confidence, independence, friendships, and a love for learning.

Our Preschool program is for children 30 months–3 years old, and our Pre-K program is for ages 4–5 as they prepare for Kindergarten and beyond.

We are getting close to full for the fall! Both of our AM classes have just 3 spots remaining, and we only have a handful of openings left in our PM classes.

I would love to invite you and your little one in for a tour, show you around our classroom, and tell you more about what makes Little Explorers so special.

Message me for more information or to schedule a tour! I can’t wait to meet some of our newest Little Explorers!

Our first day of Police Academy was full of excitement from the moment our little officers walked through the door! They were greeted with a surprise... Mr. Alligator had gone missing! We immediately gathered at our police station to read the missing report, meet our list of suspects, and begin our detective training.

The children carefully investigated the crime scene using their observation skills, discovering footprints, green fur, and mystery letters that spelled R-A-C-C-O-O-N. After collecting all of the evidence and discussing the clues together, our detectives decided that the raccoon is our number one suspect... for now! We can't wait to see what new clues tomorrow brings as the mystery continues.

Throughout the day, our officers stayed busy exploring all of our hands-on police stations. They enjoyed our community sensory play area filled with play houses, cars, and community helpers, searched for hidden treasures and treasure chests in our water bins, stretched and squished blue police slime, completed police-themed coloring pages, and visited our detective notebook station where they recorded clues and observations just like real investigators.

Our Police Academy detectives are already hard at work, and this mystery is just getting started. We can't wait to see where tomorrow's investigation leads us!

Day 3 of Princess Camp is in the books, and this week is flying by! We are definitely not ready for it to end. Unfortunately we were having to much fun I didn't get many pictures!

Today we brought back some of the girls' favorite activities from earlier in the week, along with a few new surprises, including pink fluffy slime and a bracelet-making station. It has been so much fun watching everyone find their favorite activities and create alongside their new friends.

Today we celebrated Rapunzel, so we couldn't resist adding hair tinsel to our schedule! We hope the girls loved picking out their favorite colors and adding a little extra sparkle to their hair.

Each princess also decorated her very own hairbrush with gems and charms. They turned out absolutely adorable! Since the glue needed a little extra time to dry, the brushes will be sent home tomorrow.

Tomorrow is our final day of Princess Camp, and we're ending the week with a royal adventure! The girls will help Belle search for hidden treasures during an enchanted castle treasure hunt, enjoy some fun princess tattoos, and celebrate an amazing week of magic, imagination, and friendship.

We can't wait for one more magical day together!

Day 2 of Princess Camp was all about Ariel and life under the sea!

This morning the girls explored an ocean-themed sensory experience filled with seashells, fish, and all kinds of underwater treasures. It was so much fun watching them use their imaginations as they played and explored together.

Today's craft was one of our favorites! Each princess painted her very own picture frame and decorated it with adorable mermaid-inspired charms. They turned out beautiful and will be coming home tomorrow!

To get our bodies moving, we enjoyed some princess-themed yoga before diving into an under-the-water bubble dance party. There were lots of giggles, dancing, and bubbles floating everywhere!

For story time we read Don't Let a Princess Paint with a Unicorn, which was the perfect book to go along with our painting activity.

A few reminders for the rest of the week:

Wednesday is Rapunzel Day! Please have your princess wear her hair down. We'll be adding hair tinsel and decorating our own princess hairbrushes to take home.

Thursday is Belle Coronation Day! We'll wrap up our magical week by celebrating all of our princesses with a special royal coronation and a few fun surprises.

Please remember to send a nut-free snack and a labeled water bottle with your child for the remainder of the week. The girls have definitely been enjoying their snack time!

We can't wait to see everyone tomorrow for another magical day!

Day 1 of Princess Camp was everything we hoped it would be!

It was so much fun seeing all of the girls arrive in their princess-inspired outfits. They looked absolutely adorable and were so excited to jump right into all the magic we had planned.

Each morning we're kicking off camp with a variety of princess-themed table activities that include art, sensory, and imaginative play. Today the girls explored our Cinderella sensory complete with glass slippers, Ariel's under the sea sensory bin, our always popular potion station where they mixed colorful potions while experimenting with colors and pouring, scooping, and measuring, plus princess coloring pages and princess keychains they could color and personalize.

For our large group activities we sang and danced our hearts out before making Cinderella slime together. We also spent time in the gym and couldn't resist bringing out the bounce house to start the week with some extra fun!

Today's story was Princess, Fairy, Ballerina, which was the perfect way to slow down before wrapping up our morning.

One quick note for families: we had planned to skip snack time this week, but the girls quickly let us know they had other ideas! If everyone could please send a nut-free snack with your child for the remainder of the week, we would really appreciate it.

Here's a look at what's coming up next:

Tuesday: Ariel Day! We'll be painting seashells and creating an under-the-sea picture frame.

Wednesday: Rapunzel Day! Please have your princess wear her hair down. We'll be adding hair tinsel and decorating our very own princess hairbrushes to take home.

Thursday: Belle Coronation Day! We'll celebrate an amazing week of princess fun with a special royal coronation and a few magical surprises.

We can't wait for another wonderful day tomorrow!

Day 1 of Minecraft Camp is in the books, and I think it's safe to say we have a group of builders on our hands!

We spent the morning making Minecraft "potions," building with magnetic tiles, creating with playdough, stacking towers, and exploring all kinds of sensory activities. The kids worked together to build an entire Minecraft village and had so much fun pretending to jump across lava into the Nether Portal.

We also spent time in the gym playing games and surprised everyone with the bounce house, which was definitely a highlight of the day.

Before heading home, we read What's in the Box? and Not a Box, two stories that reminded us how powerful imagination can be. Sometimes all you need is a cardboard box and a big idea.

Tomorrow we're breaking out the baking soda and vinegar for a TNT-inspired science experiment, making Minecraft slime, and tackling even more building challenges. I can't wait to see what this group creates next.
