We are an educational farm located in Shelburne, VT! New Village is a biodynamic learning farm located on 100 acres in beautiful Shelburne, VT.

We offer camps & other educational programs to encourage our wonderful community to come and get hands-on learning experience with our animals and gardens. Our programs for children allow them to be integral in every aspect of farming as they help care for the animals, plant and harvest gardens, and learn traditional farm and craft related skills. In addition to our learning programs, we raise cattle, goats, sheep, and chickens in addition to growing a wide variety of seasonal vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Our hearts are heavy as we said a hard goodbye to Oma and Terry as they made their final journey to slaughter yesterday. We hold an immense amount of love and gratitude for our animals, both during their lives on our pastures and in their transition to nourishing our community. We feel incredibly lucky to raise happy, healthy animals who will continue to sustain the people we care about long after their lives end. Every animal leaves their own mark on the land. Terry was our gentle giant, a steady and peaceful presence who was always looking for a good scratch. Oma was sweetly introverted in her later years and valued her space from humans, though she was known for her sass in the milking parlor back in her day. Thank you, Oma and Terry, for your lives, your quirks, and the deep purpose you brought to our farm.

Yesterday we had students from South Burlington High School and Lake Champlain Waldorf High School come volunteer at the farm and help us transition our goats from their summer pasture to their winter pen. Enrollment for the Fall semester of Wednesday Farm School, Tuesday After School, and Wednesday After School are now FULL!! Make sure you sign up for these programs in the Spring right when registration goes live at 8 AM this Thursday, October 15 to ensure you get a spot! Trial days for Wednesday Farm School in the Fall are now closed.

One week until registration for Spring 2027 Farm School and After School goes live! We will also be hosting Drop In Program Days the week of February Break (February 22-26) and April Break (April 19-23). You can sign up for the whole week or individual days when registration opens on October 15! See you at the farm!

Happy Apple C***r Pressing Season!! 🍎🍁 This week at the farm we have been grinding and pressing apples to make delicious c***r and feeding the pressed apples to the cows to snack on.

Farm fresh cooking! Last week our Drop-In Program Day students harvested tomatoes, garlic, and basil from our gardens to make a yummy spaghetti and tomato sauce meal. We’re hosting 3 more Drop-In Program Days this fall, September 21, October 22, and October 23 - Sign up now before all the spots fill up!

We wrapped up summer camp with a camper-run New Village Fair!! Most of the events (including skee ball, a lemonade stand, fortune telling, nature crafts, a dance battle, ring toss, a piñata, pie toss, and many more) were run by the campers and CITs themselves. We let their creativity and ideas come to life for this amazing end-of-summer celebration!!
