We are incredibly grateful for the amazing response to our Phoenix Learning Center Amazon Wish List!

So many generous people purchased items for our classrooms and students. Because many of the donations were anonymous, we can’t thank everyone individually. Please know how much we appreciate each and every one of you who helped.

These donations will be put directly to use in our classrooms for hands-on learning, student activities, classroom organization, sensory and educational supports, and everyday supplies that help our students and staff succeed.

There are still a few items remaining on our Wish List, but it has already been a huge success. Seeing so many people step up to support Phoenix and our students means more than we can say.

Another incredible Extended School Year is in the books!

Over the past several weeks, our students didn't just continue learning ....they explored, created, problem solved, and built confidence in ways that extend far beyond the classroom.

From researching America's National Parks and learning outdoor safety with a National Park Ranger, to engineering towering STEM structures, exploring nature, practicing social-emotional skills, meeting Officer Jess and K9 Hunter, and strengthening literacy through hands-on projects, every week was designed to make learning meaningful and engaging.

At Phoenix Learning Center, ESY isn't simply about maintaining academic skills over the summer. It's about helping students continue developing communication, independence, confidence, self-regulation, and real-world problem-solving through experiences they'll remember.

None of this happens without an incredible team of educators, therapists, support staff, community partners, and families working together toward the same goal.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this summer such a success.

We can't wait to welcome many of our students back in just a couple weeks for another amazing school year!

☀️ FIELD DAY 2026 ☀️

What an incredible day at Phoenix Learning Center!

Our students, staff, and families had an amazing time celebrating the end of the year with sunshine, laughter, teamwork, and nonstop fun. From the obstacle course and bounce house to mini golf, fishing, ring toss, sack races, raffles, trinkets, prizes, water games, sidewalk chalk, face painting, temporary tattoos, and more. There was something for everyone to enjoy!

And of course… no field day is complete without great food and treats! 🍕🍿🍋🍭🍦

Students enjoyed pizza, popcorn, lemonade, cotton candy, and ice cream throughout the day while spending time with friends and staff.

The smiles, encouragement, and positive energy throughout the day truly reflected what Phoenix Learning Center is all about: connection, inclusion, growth, and community.

We also want to give a very special thank you to our parents and families for supporting both our students and our program. Your involvement, encouragement, donations, participation, and trust help make events like this possible. Seeing our students celebrated and supported by so many caring people means everything to us.

Thank you as well to our amazing staff and volunteers who worked so hard to make the day a success. We loved seeing students cheering each other on, trying new activities, building friendships, and simply enjoying being kids.

Field Day 2026 was a huge success and we’re already looking forward to next year!

Detective Corr and Patrolman Folley had a fantastic time joining students, families, and staff at Phoenix Learning Center's End-of-the-Year Celebration!

Phoenix Learning Center is a K–12 educational institution dedicated to serving children with special needs through a multidisciplinary approach that combines academic instruction, therapeutic support, life skills development, and a strong focus on social-emotional learning.

The students enjoyed exploring one of our patrol vehicles, meeting our officers, and learning more about law enforcement in a fun and interactive setting. Events like these help strengthen the relationships between our department and the community we proudly serve.

Thank you to Phoenix Learning Center for the invitation and for all you do to support and empower your students each day. We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and relaxing summer!

🎓 A Milestone Worth Celebrating 🎓

Today, we are incredibly proud to celebrate Phoenix Learning Center’s very first graduate — Reagan Belt!

Reagan’s journey represents perseverance, growth, resilience, and determination. Being our first graduate is more than earning a diploma — it marks the beginning of a legacy at Phoenix Learning Center.

Watching our students overcome challenges, grow in confidence, and reach milestones like this is exactly why Phoenix exists. We could not be more excited to see what the future holds for Reagan as he begins this next chapter.

At Phoenix Learning Center, we love seeing our students take initiative and create positive experiences for their peers.

One of our high school seniors recently came up with a creative idea that turned individual rewards into a shared team goal. 10 of our high school and middle school Students earned AIM points through positive choices, participation, effort, and growth — then chose to contribute those points toward a group reward: a trip to the movie theater!

What started as a simple idea quickly became an incredible example of teamwork, encouragement, and community. Instead of only cashing in points for smaller individual rewards like snacks, phone time, or game time, students worked together toward something bigger.

This week, the group celebrated their success with a trip to see Shrek at Cobblestone Cinema. Every student received a snack pack, shared plenty of laughs, and most importantly, experienced the value of working together toward a common goal.

We are incredibly proud of our students — not just for earning the reward, but for supporting one another along the way. Moments like these are what make our Phoenix family special.

We recently had the opportunity to welcome Jungle Terry and Friends to Phoenix Learning Center—and it was nothing short of incredible.

Jungle Terry brought a hands-on, interactive animal experience directly to our students, introducing them to a variety of animals while sharing engaging, age-appropriate education about wildlife, respect for nature, and animal care. His programs are designed specifically for schools and educational environments, combining humor, interaction, and meaningful learning.

What made this experience especially impactful for our students:

Full participation – every student was able to engage at their comfort level

Sensory-rich learning – real-world exposure that goes far beyond textbooks

Social-emotional growth – building confidence, curiosity, and connection

Memorable engagement – learning that sticks because it’s experienced, not just taught

At Phoenix Learning Center, we believe the most powerful learning happens when students are immersed in meaningful, real-world experiences. Bringing in programs like this allows us to meet students where they are and create moments of genuine excitement and discovery.

We are grateful to Jungle Terry for creating such a positive, inclusive, and unforgettable experience for our students. We also can't thank Megan Hoover enough for all the support she provides for our students and staff.
