Head of School Pieter Mulder has announced that the 2027-28 school year will be his final one leading Berkshire. He will retire following 15 years in the role and more than two decades spent under the Mountain.

Under Pieter’s leadership, Berkshire stands as one of the country’s premier boarding schools, balancing a commitment to excellence with a deeply supportive community. We are in a position of tremendous strength and momentum, anchored by extraordinary people invested in each other and in the values that have defined our school for generations.

With nearly two years to plan for this leadership transition, Berkshire has time to both celebrate Pieter’s impact and to conduct a comprehensive and thoughtful search for our next head of school. The Board of Trustees has selected Isaacson, Miller (IM), one of the country's leading executive search firms, to guide this national search.

There’s nothing quite like crisp autumn air, golden leaves, and that iconic Berkshire Mountain view. Once a part of this Mountain, always a part of it. 🍁🍂

Bears in Washington, D.C.! 🏛️️

On Thursday, October 1, more than 30 alumni, parents, and friends gathered at the historic DACOR Bacon House in Washington, D.C., for a memorable Berkshire Reception hosted by the Washington, D.C., Regional Advisory Board. From Tom Wolf ’44C to our newest Class of 2026 graduates, the evening brought together generations of Bears to connect and celebrate the enduring spirit of Berkshire School.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the night so special!

Whether you contributed through annual giving, gifts to endowment, capital projects, planned gifts, or through volunteer leadership: thank you for helping to build our strongest Berkshire.

The 2025–26 Annual Report is officially out. Head to your email to read the report and to celebrate our donors and volunteers.
