When we say family, this is what that looks like outside of weddings.

We’re in the thick of wedding season, but I won’t ever regret taking time to enjoy these moments; the ones where my oldest daughter and her family show up to support and cheer on my youngest daughter. (The world’s best auntie, by the way.)

I just feel so grateful for the flexibility to enjoy the best of both worlds, and to have my family by my side through all of it. 🥰

Where is the time for YOU?

Build in 15 minutes after your ceremony as a non-negotiable for you and you new spouse to lock yourselves in a room, go for a walk or a drive, just go hide somewhere so you can take a deep breath, look each other in the eyes, and say “WE DID IT”.

Soak it in.
Relish the moment.
Enjoy the joy and the adrenaline rush - you’ll never get that moment back.

Look, I’m a sucker for romance. I wouldn’t have been in the world of weddings this long if I wasn’t.

But when I get to witness REAL romance firsthand, I’m blown away.

The way these two speak to each other with respect and adoration.

The way they look into each other’s eyes.

The way they held hands so naturally, as if their hands were shaped specifically for the other’s.

The way they shared a handkerchief to wipe away their tears of joy.

The way they shared their feelings and vows with each other so eloquently yet with intention and meaning.

It was an incredible privilege to witness this.

A couple at the point of getting married knows that they’re going to have to work extra hard to have a healthy relationship. Goals and expectations solidify, making every decision in consideration of the other. They also learn, sometimes more quickly or more often than they’d like, that physical location does not equal home.

They learn to find it in each other.

Gabby and Kyle know these lessons more than most, and they learned them very early on in their relationship. As members of the Air Force who met on base, they knew the reality of what it was going to take to sustain a real, meaningful relationship.

And last weekend they got to show 👏 their 👏 work 👏!

Tears flowing, laughter and moments of silence, and an abundance of love embracing the entire day was the vibe, and I couldn’t have felt more privileged to have had a front row seat.

We were so honored to help Becky + Derrick’s vision come to life! Thoughtful touches throughout - her cousin’s dried florals from her wedding found a new use, loads of games, and a variety of favors to choose from showed their guests that simple can certainly be classy.

When the tears are flowing at the rehearsal, it’s a pretty good indication that this marriage is starting on solid ground.

I love a dog in a wedding party. But let me tell you that in all my years, I’ve never had a dog es**rt his momma down the aisle before.

And not only that, but this lucky boy gained an official dad when the bride surprised the groom with a new dog tag to represent this. 🥺

It’s always an honor to be part of a blended family coming together, and this one was one for the memory bank for sure!
