Under the Son Day School Providing Christian care and education within a secure, loving environment where students will grow Pre-K classes focus on preparing for Kindergarten.

Under the Son Day School is an early childhood school that offers classes ranging from 2-5 years of age. We take pride in our classes with certified teachers specializing in early childhood education. Special consideration is given to teacher/student ratio for every age level. Our classes have age appropriate preschool activities which include literature, music, movement, and their own curriculum.

Lessons incorporate Bible stories that teach morals and wholesome living. Playing is serious business for our children, but Under the Son is much more than a baby-sitting service. A wide range of developmentally appropriate activities is planned for each class. Many of the application lessons are practiced and reinforced during these play times. Some of these activities include recess time, organized games, handwork, arts and crafts, and singing. Self-expression and cooperation are encouraged in all of the activities. The younger children are taught beginning concepts like shapes, colors, and age appropriate activities. The curriculum includes counting, letter recognition and sounds, fine and large motor skills. Christian care is very important to us. The focus of our school, through all the fun, activities, and projects, is on the Bible and the son of God, Jesus Christ. Bible stories and lessons presented in our classes have universal application with an emphasis on moral standards and Christian values.

Well, it took 6 inches of snow , 3 days of not leaving the house and a new phone but I finally posted new school pictures. Although I really hate to miss school, Iā€™ve enjoyed the beautiful, quiet views out my windows and the adorable pictures on Facebook of our students having valuable family time playing in the snow. (Canā€™t wait to see everyone Tuesday though!)
The new year brought a few more changes to our staff. In addition to the changes reported in previous posts. We have two new staff members. In January we welcomed Ms Tammie Z. (Lovingly called Ms Nana to avoid confusion with Ms. Tammy S.) as Teacher Assistant in the Guppies class, and
Ms Jordan as Teacher in the Owls class. Ms Tammie stepped in when Ms Courtli left to accept a full time position as a nanny and Ms Jordan took over the Owls class when Ms Emily accepted a full time position teaching 2nd grade. We hate to see these loving ladies leave. Weā€™ll miss them. Welcome Ms Jordan and Ms Tammie!

Please let me introduce our new teacher assistants and school board! In the Tadpoles class, we welcome Ms Cheryl M. and Ms Brittany! In the Guppies class, we welcome Ms Kylie! In the Bees class, we welcome Ms Summer! We also welcome Ms Pat as our new Floating assistant. God has also blessed us with a wonderful new school board. Denise Sanders, Barbara Hembree, and Marilyn Finley graciously accepted this responsibility and jumped in to make our school even better. We are so blessed to have all of these new assistants and board members.
I had to get everyone caught up, but I know what youā€™re really waiting forā€¦ pictures! I will try to send them now šŸ˜€

Good morning Under the Son friends and family! I want to apologize for my ā€œradio silenceā€. No pictures or words for quite a while. Things have been hopping at school and Facebook was neglected. During the last couple of months weā€™ve lost 4 assistants due to family responsibilities and full time job opportunities. Weā€™ll miss Ms Tina, Ms Pam H. , Ms Mariah, and Ms Kelsey J. , but we wish them well. We also regrettably accepted the resignations of our wonderful school board. Alice Morgan, Carol Tomlinson, and Amy Brand have worked hard as our board for five years and retired to relax and enjoy their grandchildren. We will miss their love, support, and guidance.
Of course, no matter what was going on behind the scenes, our amazing teachers were teaching and loving their students.
