Our High School Hispanic Heritage Club recently hosted a Cultural Potluck, bringing students together to celebrate the many cultures that make our school community so special! Students had the opportunity to share not only their cultural heritage but also a cherished dish from their own households.

What a wonderful way to learn about one another, celebrate our differences, and connect through something we all love—food!

Last week, our 6th graders enjoyed four unforgettable days at Environmental School at Broken Arrow Ranch KSNE! From orienteering and horsemanship to wildlife and video recording, students learned new skills, made new friends, and explored God’s creation. Worship and opportunities to lead helped them grow closer to God—and even the rain couldn’t dampen their enthusiasm! Thank you to our sponsors, cabin counselors, and parents for making this special adventure possible! 🌿🐴

😂 What is the funniest thing a student has ever said to you? A student didn’t want to clean up his trash, and when I asked him why, he said, “Because I just like living in a mess.”
💛 What is your favorite thing about the age group you teach? They are filled with so much joy, and I love how excited they get over the smallest things!
🎵 If your classroom had a theme song, what would it be? “Good Day” by Forrest Frank. We listen to it every morning!

Our teachers and staff got an extra-special pick-me-up today thanks to the new 7 Brew Coffee opening soon on Shawnee Mission Parkway! They stopped by Midland with FREE drinks for our staff—and we were more than happy to be their taste testers! 😋

A huge THANK YOU to 7 Brew for thinking of our school and treating our hardworking staff. You definitely made our day a little brighter!

The MAA teaching staff is complete for the 2026-27 school year!

Please welcome Sonnya Mosqueda to the MAA Community. She has been hired to fill the 5th/6th-grade homeroom position for next year. Her primary responsibilities will be to teach 5th-grade math, 6th-grade math, 5th/6th-grade science, 7th-grade science, and 5th/6th-grade Bible.

Sonnya is an experienced teacher who has taught a wide range of students from 1st through 8th grade. Her background in science is especially strong, and she relies on everyday examples to reinforce the concepts taught in class.

As a veteran teacher, she has a well-established classroom management system that stems from her love for students and helps them understand the routines and systems that make a classroom effective. No doubt she will challenge students to improve their technology skills and find ways to put their faith into action through community service.

We are excited to have Sonnya join our already amazing team of educators.
