Got the family - and my very important pup - out in the HEAT to scout for our upcoming moth sheeting event.

This is our first time doing a moth sheet, so we wanted to make sure we found the perfect spot to set up and see what we can find.

Shoutout to my Wander Mom and Wander Dad, who will drop whatever they’re doing to help me bring all of my crazy ideas and adventures to life. I definitely couldn’t do it without them.

Now let’s watch some bugs!🦋🔦

What a way to wrap up the weekend.🥈

Over the two-day tournament, a total of 1,192 invasive Asian carp were removed from the Illinois River to be used for food and processing.

On Saturday alone, 621 fish were removed, and the Wander Woman team landed 72 Asian carp, earning 2nd place in the final heat.

Between the weather, the mud, boat issues, and a few bumps and bruises, these ladies never quit. They adapted, worked together, and gave it everything they had until the end.

We are incredibly proud of this team. It was a weekend of hard work, teamwork, and conservation, and every fish removed makes a difference.

Yesterday, teams removed 571 invasive Asian carp from the Illinois River, and the Wander Woman crew contributed 53 of those fish. Every one removed is a win for the river and its native fish.

This morning we’re loading up, heading back out, and ready for round two. Time to make some more splashes, fill the boat, and see what the day brings.

Wish our ladies luck!

Theo and I spent the day scouting the trail for an upcoming Wander Woman Kansas adventure. This fall, Wander Mom and I will be hosting our annual O.W.W.L. (Outdoor Wander Woman Life-Skills) beginner backpacking event at Clinton Lake.

If you’ve ever been curious about backpacking but didn’t know where to start, this is for you. We’ll cover what to pack, how to properly pack your backpack, hit the trail together, set up camp for the night, cook a backpacking meal, and learn how to safely collect and filter drinking water.

The good news? Theo and I tested it in the summer heat so you don’t have to. By the time our event rolls around, we’ll be enjoying cooler fall temperatures instead.

Theo gives the trail two paws up… even if he’s still picking burrs out of his fur. 🐾
