It is with very heavy hearts that we will be closing the program at the end of this school year.

The staff at Shawnee Adult Learning Center wish to extend a most heartfelt "Thank you" to all who have allowed us to help them along their journeys. It has been an honor to serve each learner who graced our program.

This page will remain active in one form or another in an effort to help the area transition into the future and to serve as an informational resource for those in need of adult education / high school equivalency services.

Should you have any questions concerning high school equivalency classes or testing (HiSET or GED) please contact Oklahoma CareerTech's Department of Adult Education and Family Literacy. Their website (link is below) has a listing of all adult education locations, as well as links to HiSET, GED and Parchment (diploma services)>

Again, this is not "goodbye." This is simply another step along the journey. Don't give up. Keep going. Always remember that you are important. You have skills. You have a purpose. Keep moving forward.

Due to potentially hazardous side roads, parking lots, and sidewalks, Shawnee Public Schools will cancel classes and have a traditional snow day on Tuesday, January 23.

Shawnee ALC will be closed as well.

Individuals can take the GED® or HiSET® to earn the state’s official high school equivalency diploma, a credential issued by the Oklahoma Department of Education.
