Great connections in the making! This week, leaders from the Oklahoma Chamber, Shawnee Forward, OSUIT and Dawn Huggins with Bison Metals toured our CNC machine shop, welding, and electrical trades programs here at Gordon Cooper Technology Center. While touring the machining shop, the group caught up with Machining student Andrew Wilson, who recently completed his employment orientation with Bison Metals! Andrew did a fantastic job sharing insights about his program and his bright career path ahead.

When community and career development align! Red carpet service meets aviation excellence at Thursday’s Social Exchange, sponsored by Shawnee Forward. During their tour of our airframe hangar, Chick-fil-A management spotted a familiar face high above the hangar floor—shift manager Tyler Blevens, working hard on the MU-2 aircraft. We love seeing local businesses support their team members as they pursue hands-on technical training here at Gordon Cooper Technology Center!

Today we pause and remember those who lost their lives and those who had there lives changed forever 25 years ago. We also honor those who bravely answered the call to help on September 11, 2001, and in the weeks and months that followed.
At Gordon Cooper Technology Center we are proud to serve and help train many of our area first responders.
