Vending/ Food Service Worker
Position Summary
The Vending & Food Service Worker is responsible for maintaining vending inventory and stocking vending machines across all GCTC campuses. This position also provides support to food service and concession operations, including food preparation, cashier duties, kitchen maintenance, and setup and cleanup for special events. The position works to ensure food, vending, and concession areas are clean, organized, adequately stocked, and operated in accordance with District standards and applicable safety and sanitation requirements.
Preferred Education & Experience:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Three years related experience in a foodservice environment, such as schools, hotels, or hospitals preferred
• A vocational training program in food service management may be used to substitute work experience.
Physical Requirements
• Regularly perform physical activities associated with stocking vending machines, transporting supplies and products, food preparation, and maintaining food service areas.
• Regularly lift, carry, push, and/or pull food, beverages, supplies, equipment, and other materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Safely move and transport products and supplies between work areas and GCTC campus locations using appropriate equipment and safe lifting practices.
• Drive to and work at multiple GCTC campus locations as required by the position.
• Frequently communicate with students, staff, and external customers and exchange information accurately and effectively in person, by telephone, and through other appropriate means.
• Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and perform other physical activities associated with the essential functions of the position.
• Ability to work in a kitchen, food service, vending, and concession environment, including exposure to varying temperatures, food products, cleaning products, and equipment.

Work Year: 190-days per year contract for 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Compensation: Hourly salary range is $15.91-$18.34. Work 10 months, paid over 12 months. Placement within the range is based on education, experience, and other job-related factors.
