Merry Christmas! Many thanks to you who have sponsored students or donated to provide for them.

The FGM season is upon us here, and its proponents plan to abduct young girls as soon as school lets out this week! We have committed to rescue 10 new girls this month, when they are most at risk of abduction, but we don't have funds to keep them safe beyond January 3rd. If you look at the pictures above and your heart goes out to these young women and girls, just imagine the hundreds more who need your help to stay safe, get an education and have hope of a future! New Life Rescue Centre needs your help to do that.

We also need to build a stronger gate to keep marauders out. The cost for this is $300. Sponsorship of $35/month will keep each girl safe, fed, clothed and educated until she reaches adulthood.

This time of year, which so many around the world look forward to with joyful anticipation, is a time of fear and dread for these girls not willing to undergo FGM and a life of subservience and drudgery. Praying for your generous help.

This is Cynthia Atieno, instructor Mrs. Tucker, and Linet Adhiambo Ogilo at Sowing and Reaping Vo-Tech Centre in Kenya. Linet is a total orphan who lived with her sister and brother-in-law, subsistence farmers. A donor supported her through her last two years of high school, but is no longer able to do so. Linet needs support of $700/year or $58.33/month per year of school. That pays tuition, uniforms, supplies, room, board and transportation for breaks. After one year, she will have a basic certificate in Food and Beverage Production. Two additional years would provide her with the highest level of food preparation education, after which she would be eligible to work in the best restaurants or hotels. If your heart is touched by her struggle for education and her hope of a bright future, please message Pamela Kurn Smith for directions to provide support.

Due to our struggles here with power and internet access, I was unable to post for a long time. Please forgive the resulting information overload I may be causing for you today. These are many of the New Life Rescue Centre refugees we took in last October. Many still have no sponsor. These girls are in primary school ranging from 3rd grade to 7th, and can be sponsored for $35/month. Please message us if you are moved to provide the hope of a future through education and social support at New Life Rescue Centre.

We appreciate your prayers for the safety and health of all those served by K2K Connection here. There is an outbreak north of us which has caused the government to close all churches and the schools with current COVID-19 cases. So far, our schools are all open.
We are 5 weeks away from the beginning of the 2021 school year here, since most grades were closed from March 2020. The eighth graders took their national exam in March and will be ready to start private high schools July 26th. We have three NLRC girls and several teen mothers who will need financial support to go to high school. There are other needy children whose grades are excellent who qualify to attend national (the best) schools in Kenya, but their parents do not have all the funds for the very high tuitions at these excellent schools. I pray and hope that God will inspire donors' hearts to provide the hope of a future for these young women.
Below: Cynthia Atieno, passed her National HS exam and was accepted to Sowing and Reaping VoTech Centre on Lake Victoria. She needs a sponsor to pay $700/year or $58.33/month so she can pursue an education in Food and Beverage Service. That will give her the skills and knowledge to work in a hotel restaurant or open her own restaurant. She is a total orphan and has a 5 year old daughter to support when she completes her education. The sponsor who paid for her high school education can no longer send support.
