A new school year means a new season of Read Across SMSD!

Season 6 kicks off with a message that feels especially fitting: Stand Together. Superintendent Dr. Michael Schumacher joined students at John Diemer Elementary to introduce this year’s featured book, We the People Is All the People by Howard W. Reeves.

The Shawnee Mission Education Foundation is proud to support this celebration of reading alongside NEA-Shawnee Mission. Through the Foundation’s support, every Shawnee Mission School District school library receives the featured Read Across SMSD books.

Here’s to another year of great books, big ideas and ONE Shawnee Mission!
