​We are thrilled to announce that Olathe NEA, joined by our union siblings from across the community, will be walking in the Old Settlers Day Parade on Saturday, September 12! ☀️ We’re showing up to support our city, and we’re bringing a gift for our students and families.

​Our main goal for the day is simple and impactful: promoting a lifelong love of reading! Olathe NEA members and friends will be handing out FREE children’s books to parade spectators! 📚✨

​Come out and support our community, say hi to your local educators, and make sure your young ones are ready to grab a new adventure. This is what union and community connection is all about: uniting together and investing in our kids. We can’t wait to see you!

NEA Shawnee Mission had a "ridiculously positive" morning with our new hires! What a successful start to the new school year!

We welcomed 153 new hires at our breakfast today, gave away tons of swag and goodie bags, and informed our newest colleagues about the importance of joining your union! 💪

Vote on ratification of the 26-27 negotiated agreement! ✅
Last Thursday we reached a tentative agreement for the 26-27 contract year.
The ratification vote was sent out via email today. Bargaining unit members have until Sunday August 9th at 11:59pm to vote.
